And what did Spinks turn out to be? Additionally Ali deliberately lost that fight. This was at the tail end of his career and he was as good as retired already. Either way no one thought Leon was the next coming in the heavyweight division when he beat Ali. His win was no different to Tyson Douglas in that it was an unlikely upset and nothing more. In terms of his record he'd fought no one.
Shane's record: 12-1-0 7 (TKO's) 5 (subs) 1 loss (Sub). Brock has heart i don't think you can question that, he is after all competing in a combat sport when he had various over options and it's not for lack of money. His chin hasn't really been tested at all though, he reacted very badly to barely getting hit while the fight was standing, but thats not completely attributed to chin. The strikes on the ground from Carwin weren't really landing on anything but gloves and arms. Not very impressed with either guy to be honest, but time will tell.
Dude, i wasn't talking about his WWE wresting, i'm talking about his collegiate wresting! I stated "not WWE" in my post. Brock has 33 matches in his senior year alone which does indeed have a relationship with what he'd doing currently. I understand your point of feeling that Brock has gotten opportunities other, perhaps more deserving, people haven't. But the fact is that given those opportunites he has fully taken advantage of them. And no matter what is record is, he is to be taken seriously. So you say he's winning but "just". So what difference does that make? Plus, all of these people he "just" beat didn't even make it to the final bell. So what if he's never Fedor, that doesn't mean he isnt "to be taken seriously".
Alli did not deliberately lose the fight, and he fought afterwards. But what you are not addressing his point. His point is that Leon was given an opportunity to fight for title with so little experience. When you point was originally that something like that wouldn't happen in boxing.
Lets not forget about Pete Rademacher who fought Floyd Patterson for the HW title in his first pro fight.
That wasnt my point. Nice of you to infer that though. The point about Brock not being deserving of his shot was secondary to my main point about not taking Brock seriously because he's ledger is 5 - 1. Additionally no boxer in history to my knowledge has been given a title shot after 2 fights. Now Leon was chosen as a gimme opponent for Ali who pulled off the upset. Brock on the other hand was deliberately gifted a shot at the title after 2 fights in the UFC. Leon on the other hand was an Olympic Gold Medalist and had 8 pro fights before being thrown in at the deep end with Ali. I dont see a comparison between the two at all.
The guy got hit with an arm punch uppercut, ran away for his life, scared to get hit, and fell in the fetal position.
Carwin's punching can be greatly improved that's for sure but, it was enough to KO some pretty big dudes so I'll give Brock the benefit of the doubt.
I say that the 40 yard dash times, broad Jump, and Vertical Leap are all aload of ****, they are all bull****. Lies, just to hype up Brock Lesnar and the UFC.
So the Vikings knew all those years ago that he would go to the UFC? Good thinking. Measurements of athleticism are "bull****" eh? Wonder why every person in charge of any sporting team or training anybody tries to improve them.
I'm saying there all lies, Brock Lesnar can not produce those times and stats........... It's all bull****, to make him look better than he is.
