Yeah, I definately thought Leonard won this fight. Never understood the big furoure over the decision.

Leonard outmanouvered Hagler all night and his hand speed was too much for a Hagler that, as you say, looked on the slide at 32.

Looks to me like someone who was getting peppered and was finding difficulty finding the target so he was swinging in hope of landing something. That's not shot, that is just lack of intelligence. Leonard had a gameplan, he stuck to it, he brought the fight home, end of.

Nope, it will always be astonishing.

Leonard proved everybody wrong, just as Muhammad Ali did before him, and Douglas after him. I will not be taking credit away from Leonard on the basis that one person is claiming Hagler was shot.

Hagler got into the ring, he lost the fight, and the winner had just come off a three year lay off and was a natural welterweight. Astonishing.

    Leonard! :happy

In the history of the sport no boxer has had one fight in five years then dethroned a great champion 13 pounds heavier.
    Awesome......

He was not a shot fighter or was SRL spectacular. It is much more than that. SRL is coughing out a lung, Hagler is just smirking, and Hagler is simulating alot of those punches. I use to hang with Hagler's nephew on the wife's side. I remember watching this fight back in 1987 and now watching this clip and it just confirms the show they put on for the fans. "SHOW"!!! Hagler walks away bitter and starts making movies in Europe. I forgot that he was only 32.

lenord was hardly in his prime.........

besides, he over extended his reach cause lenord was fighting going backwards. hagler never looked grreat chasing movers, lucky he didnt fight that many of them! :)

still yes, he may have been on the slide, but still haddnt lost in 10 years and lenord was retired so it was prolly evens.
