What fighters do you think of that displayed a such a fighting spirit that they had to win, no matter what...
I think of Ray Robinson, he always fired back when caught...
Ray Leonard always retialiated at once when landed upon...
Joe Calzaghe will come back firing to change the coarse of a fight.
    Who do you think of?

Carmen Basilio. Evander Holyfield. Rocky Marciano.

    Few fighters that personify it.

Definitely Holyfield, Leonard and Calzaghe have a case. Joe Frazier maybe?

Lennox Lewis would be at number 1 for me. Then you have the likes of Foreman and Holyfield.

    :(

Ok, the first time I'm actually going to "defend" Joe Calzaghe on ESB has come. Calzaghe ALWAYS hits back hard when hit flush.

Didn't intend to degrade Frazier, mate. But Frazier just hit hard no matter what the opponent did. I thought that was the thread's subject, no?

Calzaghe has more will power than Frazier. No doubt.

Not by much, but I have him ahead by a solid 20%

You think Joe Calzaghe has more willpower then Joe Frazier?

Joe Frazier's career mirrors that of Rocky friggin' Balboa's. Frazier is one of the epitomes of willpower in sports, none the less boxing.

    Erik Morales.

He even escaped criticism for the most part when he quit against Pacquiao. That's how much people respect Morales's will and guts.

The bold part is what I considered most before answering in this thread. Do you understand? :good

And no, Calzaghe doesn't have more willpower then Frazier. They both have tremendous will to win.

Oh, terribly sorry that I was exploring more facets of "indomitable" willpower then punching back when punched. :good :good :good

    Azumah Nelson.

A guy I would never want to fight in his prime. Even though I'd outweigh him by 70 pounds.
