I dont think its going to take a war that will gain him any respect, He needs to start being consistant, he needs to start fighting the best in his divison, which I am assuming he will, the next year or two will decide how history views him, if he doesnt not fight Mosley, Pacquiao and or Cotto you can bet your ass he will be considered a fluke

That's more like it, he needs to stop having one fight every 5 years.

only super hardcore boxing fans that dislike him will do this and believe it or not this is a minority 10 years from now they will show highlight reals as 1 of the best to step in the box

No matter what he does he will have his detractors. He could win all the belts through heavyweight and it still wouldn't be enough for some.:-(

Hes in the business of making money. Boxing is part of the entertainment business, so part of his job is to entertain. His style just isnt very entertaining to a lot of people. :bbb

erm i dunno. Rewatching the first couple rounds again it was pretty crazy to think this guy went 12 rounds with mayweather. I dont think he was comfortable taking any crazy chances and that may come back to bite him. vs a pacquaio or cotto lets say.

He doesn't need a brutal fight, but maybe just a fight or two where he takes on the odds, fights where people think he will get beat, and then put on a clinic. Something like Hopkins/Tito.

You can't truly judge Mayweather because of the simple fact that he's fighting in perhaps the weakest era in the sport's history. He's head and shoulders above the rest, but that still doesn't dictate where he stands in an all time sense. Really, all we have to go on are his performances. If he's going to fight completely overmatched opponents in such an unneccessarily safety first manner, it's not going to do anything for his all time standing but lower it. If you're head and shoulders above the rest, at least prove it conclusively.
