I think another angle you can get alot of mileage out of would be how technology is used for boxing safety purposes. That opens your paper up for things like:

    Protecting fighters through
    - post fight brain scans,
    - the tools/technology used by ringside doctors to make instant analysis

    In ring technology
-Glove composition (shape, materials, padding distribution, thumbless gloves, making gloves harder to tamper with, etc.),
-Studies on glove weight requirements for weight class,
-Mouthpiece improvements to prevent brain jarring
-Improvements in corner tools (adrenaline/treatment for cuts, inswells vs. bags of ice for swelling, etc.)

Drug Testing (the movement towards more comprehensive blood/urine testing to protect fighters)

That's a great answer, didn't think about the drug testing, mouthpiece and weight-gloves studies !

I've been looking at the sport technology research laboratory too ( brains scans etc )

Thanks to you guys i have easily double the material to write with ! Thanks:)

Only real influencing technology factor today is, the media hype machine that makes average B level bums like Kovalev, GGG, Bute into superstars.
In the day this wasn't as pervasive because fighters needed to pay their dues before getting to the top. Today, they can get there with a handful of bums on their resume. All thanks to the European bum hype machine.
