Hi everyone. I’m new to this page & forum & hoping to get some assistance. I’m 53, my dad just turned 80. He’s a former professional boxer ( more like street fighter forced to put gloves on lol). He had a relatively short career - just 13 bouts. However, he did get the opportunity to fight for the Canadian Welterweight title in 1971 vs. Clyde Gray who was one of the top Welterweights in the world during this period, He’s faired better health wise than most fighters from that era - until now unfortunately, As his health declines, I would love to find anything ( newspaper, photos etc) from his career. I was surprised to find very little information through google - even on his title fight - next to zero information available. Other than this site & boxrec, can anyone recommend any other options to help my search? Thanks very much in advance!
Gray beat five people in 71. Whom was ur father if u don’t mind asking? People here r resourceful Vic Kid Doucette I’m assuming
I’d see if newspapers.com has Canadian papers … Nova Scotia in particular. Maybe local libraries in NS or big cities in Canada too for microfilm.
