It's crazy because some of the reports you read make it sound like the whole crowd was booing the decision. You hear about a fair few fights where he carried opponents which could well be the case here.

Yeah, me and my mate were talking about this the other day and he (posts here as well) said that it's funny that Barrera was always a difficult man to outbox, whereas Morales was a difficult man to outfight. But when they boxed each other the roles seemed to be reversed. Over the spread of the trilogy Morales was the better boxer and Barrera the better fighter/brawler.

this fight would be great to watch, i just dont understand it though, greatest boxer ever and no prime footage of him, same situation with Greb, very strange that people didnt film his fights, his prime years as a fighter are described with a surreal quality, as if he was doin something amazing, yet theres no footage of it, a real shame.

Being Stone Age, I'm lucky, b, many of SRR's fights in the '40s are etched in my mind. Plus, he gave me boxing tips in the gym.

woah, you learned from the boxing master himself? thats a rare oppertunity. you may say youre from the stone age but learning from the sugar man and watching him at his peak cancels that out IMO:D. Dont suppose youre willing to impart those pearls of wisdom that he taught you to us all? how many of his fights did you see, any famous ones?

Lol. Yeah I feel the same especially with the last sentence. Watchnig those fights helped me realize just how technical Morales was.

Yes, I did, S. It was a barn-burner in the ol' Garden. Lotta people thought Abrams deserved the nod.

Hard for me to be impartial about SRR -- barely watched his opponents. He had mega-watt star power.

There is bits of prime footage:

    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ltwDBGISppQ&feature=player_embedded[/ame]

Some of vs Sammy Angott III here in 1946 (I think?)

There's some good footage on this guys channel but a lot of it's un named so it's hard to tell who's fighting, check it out:

There was a thread a bit back about it but it seemed to go un-noticed!

I think theres his fight with Tony Riccio somewhere and some of the fight with Charley Fusari as well, although I think that was around 1950.
