Ingo even sang a duet with Carol Burnett on television when he was champion.

Apparently Frazier smoked it up in the 1st and Williams landed some solid blows in the second. I believe it ended up being 2 rounds. Williams was not long off retiring and way over the hill at this point of course.

Ingo, in 1959, was in fine form...was devastating vs Machen and destroyed Floyd Patterson in great style...following a great game plan in using great footwork, positioning, and that innocent looking, persistent jab to hypnotize Floyd 'till the big "toonderbolt" came along. Brimming confidence and a certain panache, the pre-1960 Johansson would have done the same thing to Williams, who was never, despite his impressive size, was never that good in my estimation. Ingo, after a conservative beginning, much like the 1st Patterson bout, would have caught the Big Cat in round 2 with a right hand counter that would have hurt him badly, and that he never would have been able to shake off. Pursuing his man to the ropes, a follow up flurry of bid, accurate punches would follow until a final clubbing right hand puts Williams down face first, the referee intervenes.

I'll pick Ingo in a up and down affair, but it likely could have gone either way. 55-45 Johansson. Cleveland was pretty good around then, but not sure he was better than Ingo really. It might just come down to who lands the big punch or punches first.

Johansson was in good form around that 58-59 time frame, confident and in peak shape having stopped Machen in September 1958 and going on to blitz Floyd in '59. I'll give Ingemar the slight edge.

Bingo RightLeftCombo!! My post, just previous to your, is based on exactly that assumption...of whoever landed first...and I believe that Ingo would have done just that.
