1959 Johannson fights 1991 Evander Holyfield for the HW championship of the world. Would Ingo's Bingo show that the Real Deal is actually the Knock Off Deal?

In all possibility, Ingo could stun Holy, perhaps even hurt him enough to jump on him and finish the job.

Unfortunately, it isn’t so likely - aside from Ingo’s slim chance - it’s Evander every other way you slice it.

The best Ingo can hope for is an isolated staggering or KD, but outside of that, Holy destroys him.

Holyfield but he might get his bell rung a bit.

Yeah but I still think Holyfield wins by KO

Damn this could be a monster.

There's no way Ingo doesn't get ultimately knocked out cold, but along the way Holy might get caught and floored a time or two. I think it depends upon Holy's Warrior Spirit getting triggered. Ingo might miraculously make it to round 3.

:pancarta: you think it takes a miracle for Ingo to make it 3 rounds

If Holyfield fights disciplined he would win easily and stop him late, if it's a slugfest Ingo would land some good punches and make it a war while it lasted, probably ending up in a TKO in rounds 5-8 for Holyfield

Johansson showed real grit getting up the way he did in his final fight with Patterson. True, that was rare for him, but he would not fold so easily in my opinion vs Holyfield. One look at the single shot Bert Cooper put Holyfield in all sorts of trouble with in 1991 tells you he would not be immune to Johansson’s thunder right, either. As Pug described it though, in almost all areas sans power, Holyfield outstrips Johansson (arguably not in ring IQ, perhaps?).

    Holyfield stops Johansson in seven.

Ney - you’ve truly warmed my Nordic heart giving my man Ingo such a competitive go against The Real Head Butt.

How well Johansson does depends on how much is known about him. In 1959 we didn't have social media or YouTube. It was possible in those days for Ingo to spring a surprise against Machen and Patterson. Nobody knew how to fight him. If Johansson could fight Holyfield under a cloak of mystery he'd have a chance to kayo Evander. But if Holyfield had access to films of Ingemar's fights including the knockouts of Machen and Patterson, he would win inside the distance.

Holyfield's chin too good for him to be knocked out like Machen was.

Excellent point New re not being properly informed on Ingo - though Patterson should’ve got some clue after the Machen blow out, I would’ve thought.

Floyd must’ve thought that Ingo somehow got incredibly lucky - Floyd certainly wasn’t trying very hard to fight Machen himself but still somehow ignored Ingo’s decimation of Eddie.

It’s ironic that Ingo got his shot because Patterson actually thought he was a soft touch.

It wasn’t really a fight in which Floyd could be credited for knowingly taking on a legitimately dangerous challenger.

Floyd himself said that he woefully underestimated Ingo and took him far too lightly.
