Durability maybe, heart no. Both were gutsy warriors who always got up; neither of them is going to lose Mike Tyson-style due to an achy-breaky heart.
a world class fat little glass jawed midget cruiserweight famous for winning 1 fight in a 3 fight series with a famously glass jawed light-heavy who who his vancant heavyweight title from a ancient light-heavy?
Guys, Ingo was a fleshy 190 fighter with a right hand and little else ... he would be giving up a huge amount of size, reach, weight and strength to Bruno ... Bruno actually took a far better punch .. it took many bombs from a Tyson or a Lewis to take him out ... Ingo crumbled when hit by Floyd ... If Bruno simply comes out and uses the jab that bothered Lewis and Witherspoon so badly, Ingo is befuddled , gets busted up and is stopped ... there is always the shot he lands a big right early but I would not bet it plays out that way ...
good post and there is much much more chance it is bruno who hands a big right early for the ko. johansson would have to do a tyson vs bruno 2 performance to get a early ko and he would be ktfo while trying. as for johannsons size height 6'0 reach 72" prime weight 194/196pounds This content is protected really johannson would be a lightheabyweight today with 24hr weigh ins
Frank Bruno was an impressive looking HW, still is. 6'3" with an 82" and was totally ripped even at his heaviest fighting weight of 248 Lbs. He had good overall skills, a strong jab, good power, and all the strength a fighter would ever need. His chin was probably better than many believe... he was stopped by "Bonecrusher" Smith (LKOby10), Tim Witherspoon (LKOby11), Lennox Lewis (LKOby7), and Mike Tyson x2 (LKOby5 and LKOby3) but only Tyson was able to simply blast him out (in the rematch). He gave Smith, Witherspoon, and Lewis hell before being stopped in those fights. Bruno stopped Scott LeDoux KO3, Floyd Cummings KO7, Ken Lakusta KO1, Lucien Rodriguez KO1, Larry Frazier KO2, Gerrie Coetzee KO1, James Tillis KO5, Reggie Gross KO8, Joe Bugner KO8, Jose Ribalta KO2, Pierre Coetzer KO8, "The Truth" Williams KO10, Jesse Ferguson KO1, Rodolfo Marin KO1, and Mike Evans KO2 among others. He also beat Oliver McCall (W12) for the WBC HW World Title Belt. He went 1-4 in World Title fights. Johansson was 6' 1/2" and about 200 Lbs. His reach was about 9" shorter than Bruno's. Ingo knocked out Machen (KO1), Patterson (KO3), and Henry Cooper (KO5) among others. He was also stopped x2 by Patterson. Ingo never fought big powerful guys like Bruno... or even like the guys Bruno faced. He went 1-2 (1) in HW World title Fights. I doubt Ingo makes it past the 4th round, bruno was very dangerous early in a fight... even the McCall (who had one of the best cins ever) gave him that respect when they fought.
I think Ingo would find Bruno's chin with the big right hand within 3 or 4 rounds, and Bruno would fall to pieces.
Of course the Ingo of '58 and '59 gets a ko,...the version of him from '60-'62 was sloppier, slower and basically shot...Bruno would get him. The thing is of course, we match these guys at their best.
