    I did read that they were 14 inch fist, his trainer Willie Reddish even said so.

    It was 14 inch fist friend. That former police officer co worker of mine that had arrested Sonny in my hometown for Assault with a Deadly Weapon in the beating of two thugs, stated that he had a hard time cuffing Liston. Later at the police station after booking Liston, he measured Sonny's fist, sure enough they were 14 inches. I tend to believe my co worker, he was a police officer for 27 years, he entered the police dept in 1956, retired in 1985 as a Watch Commander, plus he did the initial background check on Liston.

    Jerry Quarry had big mitts... 14 - 15 1/2" depending on the tale of the tape

    Sounds good to me. I believe Liston was among a group of heavies in the late 50s and early 60s (Williams, Terrell) who required specially taylored gloves due to their massive fist sizes.
