Sitting here watching Patterson vs Johansson 2 and I started thinking....what if you switched a prime Riddick Bowe for Floyd Patterson? Are there any solid arguments for a Johansson win or would this be the one sided, uncompetitive massacre that i'm imagining? Your thoughts???
Ingo was a 180 or so odd pound guy. Bowe was a 6'5 230 pound guy. There is no guy Ingo size who could beat Bowe or any other modern sized heavyweight. Bowe in one round.
This would be like the Bowe v Sheldon ft in my opinion. Ingo gets blasted to the canvas and never recover s. He jumps up from the first kd but Bowe overpower s him for another count. He'll get up again but within seconds he's down again. Game over.
Not that it may matter, but Johansson was 194 3/4 pounds on that night according to Boxrec http://boxrec.com/media/index.php/Ingemar_Johansson_vs._Floyd_Patterson_(2nd_meeting)
Certainly very much so. Ingo just to much in over his head here imo. He could punch, he proved that but I don't see in him getting the chance here.
Let's take a walk down memory lane This content is protected Although I think that Johansson unlike Ferguson would land on his back rather than his stomach.
Ingo quit in the Olympics, in a fight against a big U.S. heavyweight Ed Sanders. Sanders 6'4", 216 lbs as a pro.
