Castillo had success, but Floyd wasn't 100% as shown in the second fight. Castillo was one of the 1st to show that Floyd is vulnerable on the retreat as he backed away in straight lines putting himself in the corner and on the ropes.

    Wrong.

Having a chin isn't a part of strategy. You have it or you don't.

Good stuff. Jesus Chavez had some success. That was a good scrap even though PBF raked him in the end.

Yes, he did. But, his tactics were all wrong (as we all found out). Just rushing Floyd and wailing away isn't the formula. You must force him to show his full arsenal by taking away the lead right hand and forcing him to come out of his shell by feinting and jabbing constantly.

Do you think Tszyu had the tools to beat this guy?

The only thing wrong with your assessment is that Pacman's jab is not THAT good. And his timing is not like a the counter punching Judah. Pac just has so much speed he can lead and get through with his punches. Though he did counter the hell out of Hatton.

Also JMM does not have a tight defense and he does eat a lot of punches to get his in. That would not work against a bigger guy like Mayweather that is a little bit more quick to get off.

I agree Pac's jab is average and is actually more of a range finder if anything. The only ingredients I highlighted in his favor is his upper movement and feinting which off sets his opponents timing. Marquez doesn't have a "great" defense, but he has the ability to force Floyd to come to him and force him to his left negating the lead right hand and countering with his own.

He had some qualities to trouble Floyd, but I doubt he had the savvy and ring IQ to commit to the correct gameplan to get the job done. I see Floyd outboxing him to a clear UD.:good

Superb analysis. And it supports the position that no one at 140-147 (other than wildcard Paul Williams and maybe 37 year old Shane Mosely) can beat Mayweather at this point. I don't even like the guy, but for all the reasons you stated above, Floyd will destroy Pac.

Thanks:good. Floyd-Pac HAS to happen, this is the test I have been waiting to see Floyd have to overcome. If he does it will prove he belongs with the true Elites in boxing history.
