Ever damaged the eye badly? I've had a close call or two.

I actually have had cornea tears often and wondered if it was caused by boxing most of the time, a few times ive been punched in the eye and havent blinked and my eye will water like hell and sting for a bit, then sometimes a day later or so it can get worse n tear further until i have to use medication, but sometimes it just goes away.
Does anyone else have the same problem with their eyes? the eye specialist said i get it because i get dry eyes and that he doesnt think its boxing that causes it. but i think boxing has somthing to do with it, either way its annoying, very painful and can mean consistently missing training or doing pretty much anything for a few days every other month.

    Always go with the specialist.

    My injuries were blatant.

    What treatment do you use?

    Uppercut at 4.37.

I would have stayed down too, though Watt suggested he might of gotten up.

That looks about as nasty as it can get really, the tears i have had seem to have been caused by much lesser straight shots, i bet that uppercut made a mess of his cornea.

Usually the specialist prescribes me anti biotic eye drops, some eye drops that keep your eye dilated so your iris doesnt spazm and cause pain when the light gets in my eye, some gel to keep my eye from getting dry and making the tear worse and some antiseptic eyedrops.

This usually makes it go away depending how bad it gets it can take upto a week of eye drops and gels to get better, annoying as **** really.

Yeah, I got anaesthetic and antibiotic gel to put under the eyelid.

Francis actually fought after that with no trouble, as far as I know.

Lol oh the irony, my fight yesterday I ****ed both my eyes. I thought my contacts came out, but in fact they had folded and went slide under my eye. I woke up this morning looked and found them all gooked over, and in fact they cut the **** out of my eyes

I was looking at some stuff on the eye and made an interesting connection.

If you have very good night vision you will have good vision in a boxing match. If you have poor night vision biology dictates that you are going to get caught with some punches you don’t see coming.

Night vision is a product of the rods of the eye. The rods are primary in night vision, peripheral vision, and motion detection.
