No, for real, though. He doesn't get hit anymore than Clenelo and certainly less than Crawford, whom many think is ultra slick and defensive. Inoue doesn't show much damage after his fights. Even in the first Donaire fight, he was cut and his was broken, but he wasn't bruised or swollen up like at all. That's all I'm saying. I want to see these defensive liabilities because I'm genuinely curious.
His defence gets better as the fight goes along because people become wary of his power and stop throwing. I'm very interested to see what happens at 122 where his power may not have the same effect.
Inoue has been hit less in his entire time at BW than Fulton has been in his last two fights. (Assuming Dipaen/Dasmarinas didn't hit him 100+ times as compubox didn't score the fights lol) Fulton was hit 113 and 314 times his last times out. Inoue was hit 38 and 16 times his last times out.
Because his opponents were afraid to throw after they felt his power. Let's see what happens with the bigger boys at 122.
Black Twitter says Inoue is a hype job and will get taken to school by Fulton because he's black. Not even joking.
"Black Twitter is an internet community largely consisting of African-American users on the social network Twitter focused on issues of interest to the black community in the United States."
Inoue said in a Japanese interview before the Butler fight that if he focuses on defence, he could go rounds without getting hit. But he doesn't like fighters who are too defensive, so if they are not a big puncher, he is willing to trade or bait them to find openings to counter as long as the risk-reward is good. He also said he doesn't think he has huge amount of power, just that he is good at timing his opponent and has the precision and speed to capitalize.
Yes I know, he wants to expose himself to make his opponents throw. This time it will be against a bigger man. I hope he keeps his defence up in the early rounds and gets his opportunities.
