What a fight! I called it wrong and thought Donaire would have been blasted out.
The refereeing was bizarre - Donaire didnt go down at first from the body shot yet he held Inoue back from him and all-in he had well over 10secs. Didnt matter in the end but in a close fight it would have been seen as a really bad call.

Cannot wait for Inoue v Tete

That could have been a Maidana vs Khan round 10 situation if it had been closer indeed.
Still, great effort from Donaire in this fight.

I see Inoue gave Donaire the trophy for a day because Donaire promised his kids he'd bring the trophy home. In turn Donaire and his kids made a congratulatory video for Inoue with the trophy. The sportsmanship between the two fighters after such a war is tremendous to see.

I believe we witnessed one last great performance from Donaire. Unfortunately he came up against a genuine top 5 p4p guy and it was always going to be a step too far at this stage but all credit to Donaire, not many believed he had that left in him.

By a guy who couldn’t get rid of a 37 yr old who fights as it head movement is illegal and it’s compulsory to use your face to block punches. Yeah sure.

I love your patriotism but it's foolish to think burnett doesn't get destroyed within a few rounds.

That fight was a cracker, I always remind myself of that when I see what Khan has become.

Ah twentyman you're alive! You were conspicuously absent during my pop quiz. Jurgen at least manned up and tried to answer. :)
Might interest you to know there are strong connections between Mexico and Ireland. Many Irishmen fought for Mexico against against early US expansion. Canelo didn't pick up his red hair, fair skin and freckles "en la calle" you know! :)

Far more likely he got the red hair and freckles from his Spanish blood, but you carry on...

There are few advantages to bring old. (Very few!)... Remembering things that happened long ago is one of the few.....

Tremendous fight. Donaire put in a tremendous performance considering his age etc. Underestimated how good he is. Think i watched him against rodigoux years ago....he couldnt get much off on him if i remember right. From there didnt think he was quite as good as he actually is. Prime ridogoux was hard to get off on tbf tho.

Inoue,s something else. Only thing that will beat him is weight. Punches like a mule. Not many will stand up against him. Wont go up against guys with chins as good as donaires and the extra size helped as well. I still say inoues top 3 lbl for lbl. Not as silky as say lomachenko but just as effective.
