    Inoue is better than Donaire.

It wouldve been a terrific fight and while I agree w you that Rigo would probably be the betting favorite, I dont count Inoue out at all.

This would have been a fight for the ages. Rigondeaux destroying Donaire, because Nonito initiated all th le engagements. Rigo can sit back and counter Inoue all night long and Inoue will eventually get frustrated. The more he gets frustrated, the more he gets tagged. Only a master like Loma with a size disparity could combat Rigo, everyone else has failed, but they just have up on his unmarketability.

Rigo could win this, otherwise it would be a boring fight.

Rigo got dropped twice by bum ass Amagasa. He was put on ***** street by Marroquin and got a gift decision against Cordoba. He beat a Donaire that was in love with his power and stopped throwing combos and was loading up on one shots but it still a good performance by the Cuban who other than that doesn't really had anything worth talking about.

He would be dangerous but he would be so cautious and so focosed on not getting hit that if he didn't get caught and KTFO he would lose by decision in a stinker.

If you look at Rigo's boxrec, he's weighed in at fights as high as 125 1/2 for the Lante Addy fight.
He weighed in at 128 1/2 for the Loma fight, so that's a 3lb increase in what he's fought at before. (Loma was 129)

You're talking like fighters have never moved up in weight before and won. What Rigondeaux moved up in weight is absolutely nothing/miniscule compared to what greats such as Usyk, Duran and Pacqauio have done, and they won and didn't make any excuses.

He was about forty years old and dropped to 118 after, but have your own slant. Duran quit in his prime, in the biggest fight of his career, and made all sorts of excuses. Pacquiao has made every excuse under the sun for loses, his socks being the most notable.

he'd just turned 37 actually and nobody was mentioning his age beforehand, only afterwards . Rigo was ranked 8th P4P by the The Ring at the time of the fight. All the excuses came afterwards:)

You seem so upset. The emojis can’t hide it.

We’re talking about a Cuban 37, after about 500 amature fights. His age and size certainly were taken into consideration before the fight, which is why it’s only regarded as a so-so win for Loma.

And btw most 122 and below fighters are considered past prime in their early thirties. Just letting you know since you appear new to the sport.

He was naturally smaller than most guys he fought. No different than Floyd Patterson at HW.

Rigo dominated a younger, better version of Inoue's best win yet people can't accept that he has a good shot at beating Inoue.

I accept he has a good chance. 1/4 people pick rigo so it's not like he's counted out totally

Donaire is overrated. He had a left hook but when you shut that down he has nothing.Easily outboxed. Naoya has power in both hands.I think its a 50/50.Rigo could stop Naoya it wouldn’t surpise me.In saying that the right hand is a southpaw killah! Inoue got pop in both any could flattened Rigo.

Bringing up the Lomachenko fight is nonsense. This thread talks about PRIME rigondeaux. Lomachenko himself said that the fight against rigondeaux does nothing for his legacy because of the weight difference and it showed. Lomachenko didn't look the same weight and rigondeaux didn't look like even close to prime.

Now I was for years hoping to see Inoue vs Rigondeaux. I can imagine why they didn't pick that fight. Hard to look good against, very hard to win.

I have prime Rigondeaux winning the fight. Great focussed punches with power and lighning quick repositioning.

To me the fight might have been even more aesthetic to watch than bivol vs beterbiev. Poetry in the ring. Their balance make both seem to be glued to the floor until the move their feet with the speed of jumping spiders
