Yes, as brilliant as Loma is up at 135 against much/way way bigger and longer opponents, he was otherworldly down at 126 and 130

And I'm not talking about his 2nd pro fight where he was facing a 2 division heavier Salido is one of the dirtiest fighters in recent memory who missed weight, had popped dirty for PEDs in the past, and who fouled the crap out of him all night and categorically should've been DQ'd.

Had the corrupt as sin ref even deducted just 1 point from him the fight would've been a draw.

And Loma had never been past 5 rounds before in his life going into that fight for goodness sake, let alone against a 2 division heavier reigning world champion who over a third of their total punch connects with low blows, and and awful lot flagrant ones. And Loma still should've and would've won that fight if not for the corruption.

    Loma at 126 and 130

'Following his dazzling performance vs. Nicholas Walters, Vasyl Lomachenko takes over the #1 spot on CompuBox's Plus Minus List with a +20.9 rating. He's the highest rated fighter since Floyd Mayweather (+24.5). Lomachenko also ranks #1 in opponents connect pct. at 16.1%-- .7% higher than master boxer Guillermo Rigondeaux.

This stat is so impressive given Loma is the busier offensive fighter (22 of 59.5 per round) to Rigos 11.6 of 49.4 per round. Normally a busier fighter is more susceptible to opponents counters. Mayweather avg'd 16.9 of 38.9 per round.

Money opponents landed 18.9%. Lomachenko lands 49.4% of his power punches, 12.1% higher than the CompuBox average. Lomachenko's opponents land just 22.7% of their power punches, 14.6% lower than the CompuBox average.'

Even now he's still #4 despite the fact he's past his prime and is fighting in a division full of giants much/way bigger than him and is often giving away just under six inches in reach in many of his fights up there

And all the guys above him are either big for their respective divisions or bigger than he is for his and he has a much better resume than all of them and one of them is a huge fan of his and has studied him religiously and borrowed many things from his style

Yes, I love the whole "he was really two weight classes smaller than Lopez and Haney in the ring, but he could never go down two weight classes".

Would love to seem them meet at 126. I'd go with Inoue. Might need a fight or two at 126 to get used to the weight, though.

If they were the same size, Inoue would run him over.

He was, because both Lopez and Haney are natural 154 or bigger weights.

So with the part you left out it was ""'he was really two weight classes smaller than Lopez and Haney in the ring, but he could never go down two weight classes'". Quoting his fans that is.

Don’t agree with run him over but I do think a natural 126 Inoue would stop Loma. I can’t see him beating Loma in the real world though

Doesn't seem super likely, but I wouldn't rule it out. There's no names for Inoue to fight below 130 really. He'll probably move up to 126 next year and I'll bet he'd be open to face Loma there. Don't know if Loma will fancy it, though.

I would love to see that fight. A real boxing fans dream. If Loma is fighting 2-3 divisions higher than his natural weight, he should make 126 and not lose anything. Would be a great fight. Speed, Power goes to Inoue. Loma just has a tough style. I can't figure how his style would match up with Inoue's. Loma is an expert at staying right in front of an opponent while fainting and dipping and siding side to side and making a guy miss. But will that work on Inoue? Tough call.

Yeah, you can never know. Crawford-Spence and Garcia-Haney are two that I got wrong just in the last year, so I wouldn't have much confidence in my prediction here. Loma has fantastic skills coming forward, so nothing is set in stone. Not that I had Rigo as a favourite, but I thought the speed and power in his counter might be tricky for Loma, but he just rolled right over him. So what do I know.

What I can say is that Inoue is aggressive but can also go backwards, and he has have power, speed and precision in every punch and I think it will travel up to 126. Not 100% of what it is now probably, but still very respectable.

He can't get down to 126 anymore, and even 130 would be problematic. He may be "small" at 135, but he's put on considerable muscle mass and hasn't been cutting down to the lower weights for some time now. At some point, the body just forgets how to shed that last couple of pounds.

That's why fighters generally don't move back down in weight.

Prime, 126lbs Lomachenko was lightening quick. Watch his fight against Russell. I'm not convinced by any means that Inoue would have a speed advantage over a younger Loma.

Loma was a good fighter at 126, Inoue hasn't fought at the weight yet so that's a big question mark for me. I'd favor Loma at 126.
