"Truly, this event that happened to my father was an incident that got me angry.... because of the behavior of Puerto Rican coach with no respect for my father. This is the reason why I decided to jump right into the fight to knock Emmanuel Rodriguez out at all costs, to hit him as hard as ever in a vindictive way."

This is how you get yourself knocked out — gunning for the KO based heavily on emotion.

I'm surprised that Inoue got so angry. Is he mentally fragile or was this just an insolated incident?

    ****ING BEASTLY!!!

Let that be a warning to all potentially disrespectful jackasses in the future. **** with the Monster's family at your own peril. Your transgressions will be answered with great vengeance and furious anger.

    I called that one too

It would've been of the brutal HL reel old cold variety had the ref not waved it off and saved Rodriguez's ass

For some reason, Puerto Ricans always seem to go overboard with the pre fight provocations.

Don't think it would have mattered much either way. Even if the Monster had taken it easy it wouldn't have gone past 8.

The Japanese are a reserved and respectfully polite nation.

The absolute reverse of the Puerto Ricans , no disrespect but they are loud and very different to the Japanese.

Not surprised. Angry or not i think inoue would have still gotten him. Bad luck for rodriguez he doesn't have enough to take advantage of an emotional inoue.

And rightly so - his son was forced to pay for his actions and it was a glorious sight to see him curled up like a fetus after the disrespect.

It's a respect thing and you could see it in his stare down, from that moment I knew he was done for.
Goes back to what I been saying about real fighters like Manny and Inoue, these guys are humble, respectful to their opposition but in the ring they're savages and you don't wanna give em any extra incentive in there.

Where did you get that quote? That doesn't sound like something Inoue would say, he rarely gets emotional. Unless the marketing team changed and they are encouraging him to say stuff like that to get his own brand up.

It was Rodriguez who was boxing with the dumber gameplan, trying to walk Inoue down and exchanging with him. At the start of the second round, Rodriguez got tagged with some good shots, and seemed to lose his cool, and went swinging with Inoue, at which point he got dropped and the fight was over.

I think it's pretty obvious what Rodriguez's gameplan was — to let Inoue know from the opening bell that he was the bigger fighter, wasn't untimidated, and wasn't going anywhere. Standing up to a bully, if you will. The end result obviously proved that it was a mistake. And yes, Inoue landed a nice left hook to the ribs and then followed up with a 2 piece combo.
