I think Naoya Inoue's resume is pretty underrated. Surely, it's very far from Pacquiao/Duran level, but Monsta doesn't get enough credit for the most of his excellent wins. For example, I think Rodriguez and Moloney were FAR better fighters than Caleb Plant, but Inoue didn't get as much public attention/respect/credit for demolishing them as Canelo did for beating B- level Plant
The ONLY thing a fighter can control is that he fights the best competition available to him & Inoue has been doing (& been utterly dominant doing it) that in every division he competed in consistently far more than some other guys hyped as the next greatest thing since sliced bread merely because they are American Inoue cannot magically manifest Wilfredo Gomez, Barrera, & Morales in front of him. If Fulton, Tapales, Nery, & MJ are the best that 122 has to offer currently, can't b*tch if he fights & beats them all Likewise if he moves to 126 he can't manifest Salvador Sanchez or Alexis Arguello in front of him
Caleb Plant was the number 2 ranked Super Middleweight when Canelo met him, Rodriguez was the number 3 ranked Bantamweight while Moloney was the number 6 ranked Bantamweight when Inoue met them, you're mad because these fights got less attention than a Canelo fight?
From 2014 to 2017 Inoue fought in the Flyweight weight classes. In those years were the primes or close to primes of fighters like Carlos Estrada, Srisaket Sor Rungvisai, Kazuto Ioka, Donnie Nietas, Amnat Ruenroeng, Carlos "Backne" Cuedras, John Casimero, Moruti Mthalane, and Roman Gonzalez among others, Inoue didn't fight any of them, not one.
No, because Canelo's win over average Plant was promoted as a some great win while Inoue's demolition of Rodriguez was considered like a "another one" (pedestrian) victory. Same goes to his win over Moloney or Butler for that matter
You clearly don't know sh*t about the "flyweight" weight classes The only one's worth mentioning in Inoue's context there are Cuadras, Rungvisai, Choclatito, & Estrada. Go look up why the Choclatito fight fell through & Inoue was never at 112 & all the other guys kept their mouth shut. He was 1 of the most avoided guys & when offered a fight Choclatito said the money wasn't enough. This has been discussed multiple times here already, I am not going to rehash the storyline for you Anyway half the forum here believes those midget weight classes have no talent, so I am glad Inoue moved up If someone wanted to avoid competition, that would be a consistent theme in their career. Every time Inoue has moved up, he took on the top guys with no tune ups, the latest being Fulton. He doesn't need catchweights, rehydration clauses, & is even willing to forego his rights (like the right to wrap his hands in the way permitted by the Japanese boxing commission in the fight against Fulton, something Canelo's team wouldn't give in to for GGG) to prove his doubters wrong: Sanchez raised his hand to get Soto’s attention and then said, “He’s going to put tape and then gauze and then tape? You can’t do that.” Soto said there was a layer of gauze first on the skin and then tape over that, which he said is permitted. Sanchez said, “That’s stacking,” prompting Soto to make an angry face. “I can’t have that,” Sanchez said. “No, I can’t have that.” Soto replied, “There is nothing wrong with that,” and Reynoso continued to wrap Alvarez’s hands as Alvarez sat quietly. When Sanchez said he would file a protest, Soto said, “Go ahead. Go ahead. We’ve done this about 2,000 times, or more.” https://sports.yahoo.com/hand-wrapp...arez-vs-gennady-golovkin-fight-232739020.html Casimero is a bum who destroyed multiple chances at fighting Inoue through his own actions including the sauna shenanigans with Paul Butler. At this point, even his pinoy fans have given up on him, you must be the only one delusional enough to think Inoue avoided this weight missing bum
