Stumbled across this highlight and had to share, never saw this fight before https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OQFPWH3Xd8U
I loved Carlos Maussa's wild style, head butts and punching Harris while he was sparked out horizontal I remember watching this fight live on Sky and Ricky Hatton had done a deal with Harris if he won, but Maussa threw a spanner in the works and ended up getting the Hatton fight himself. Imagine a fight between Carlos Maussa-Amir Khan? The different styles would have made it a scream.
Yea you are right. Mayweather was saying he had never seen Harris fight. Harris was saying he was Mayweather's mandatory and mayweather ducked him.
I remember watching this thinking wtf this Mausa doing? Also he punched viv while he was on the ground or he didn't connect? Bcus that's a dq right?
Such a dirty and poorly-officiated fight. Blatant head butts, rabbit punches, holding/pushing on the head, low blows, and even a punch delivered while Harris was on the ground!
I think that Harris stayed down hoping that the referee would DQ Maussa for hitting him while he was down, but his strategy backfired because the referee counted him out.
I remember that Harris was rumored to have burnt himself out in training because he wanted to look good with the exposure. I think he also fought more aggressively than was normal for him. He was like a poor man's Forrest. This fight ****ed me off, though. I wanted to see him get a big fight, not f ucking Maussa.
And just prior to this fight the Floyd haters had already started a Floyd ducking Vivian Harris rant...this fight ruined their Campaign
