Hard for these Thai guys to get fights...... Some are pretenders like the one who was KO'd last march at Flyweight, but some have hundreds or even thousands of fights(mostly MT) and have been fighting since they were 4-5 years old. Can't be that.

Quite amazing Rungvisai was a big bum himself only 8 years ago, building a 1-3-1 record with two knockout losses.

Kiram was also a fraud. 36-0 or something and took a dive against shot Mattyse.

That dive cost me 150. Needed him to survive for 8 more seconds. F that guy.

I was talking about Nawaphon Kaikanha. Padded to hell record. Exposed horribly as soon as he stepped in with a live body. But you just never know with these Thai guys... Some have padded records and turn out to be very good.

Sor Rungvisai came from nothing, and it's inspiring to see him reach this level of main eventing HBO cards coming from such humble beginnings.

Exactly this. And concerning the kids training as very young kids, they live in the gyms I mean living, sleeping etc and they train very much as pros. The training doesn’t really differ for the kids.

These Thais the MT and western boxing pros have very little control over any aspect of their careers, like a western boxing would. They are a pure commodity in a meat market. There is and always has been a small group of the same guys that control and decide who will be a pro “Sakon” or western boxing fighter. There are no small western boxing shows or fighters trying to make it up the tree or national rankings like in most other countries. It’s almost impossible to find a western boxing gym not geared for foreign fighter tourists or ex pats. In Thailand u basically have the Huge well oiled MT machine and the small elite Olympic amateur boxing team. Outside of that you are a MT fighter who has been told you will convert to western boxing and u train in an MT gym if your lucky with another guy in the same boat or as a solitary western boxer until or unless your spotted or picked for one of the few pro boxing gyms or sponsors and that’s it. Remember on thailsnd the pool of ex MT fighters to pick from is vast.......Amateur boxers who medal in the olympics are usually out of the police or military and never turn pro. I always wonder how far Somrak Khamsing may have gone if he turned pro....

Remember also in Thailand purses are 50-50 with your handlers as most fighters are owned via their gym and live there. The fight game is the national sport in Thailand but it’s an ugly ugly meat market.

On one hand, Wangek's bums are much worse. Prior to fighting Gonzalez the three opponents were all making their pro debut, and the 12 before that were comparatively worse than Wilder's worst opposition. On the other end though Wangek has fought a few top contenders and a pound for pound guy as well. Something Wilder can only dream about.

He took those fights because he HAD to..... They were all that was available to him. Where as Wilders handlers deliberately coddled him. Oh yeah...... He was also fast tracked pretty early on against some solid Japanese talent. Shouldn't be compared to someone like Wilder who feasted on awful competition whilst on the radar of a lot of boxing fans.

BP wasn't addressing you, he was addressing the OP. Salgado is among the 15 guys Wangek fought in between Cuadras and González I. His point is that Salgado is hardly a bum. At max you could say Wangek fought eight consecutive bums directly before González (and even that is harsh; there were three debutantes in a row leading up to his first match with Chocolatito but Jack Amisa for instance usually is a serviceable journeyman on the SE Asian scene who never gets handled like Wangek did, KO1ing him...)
