Japan is doing good helping develop foreigners (in East Asian standards)

Edwin Valero, Jorge Linares & Roman Gonzalez...were promoted out of Japan at one point of their career

Uchiyama, Miura, Yamanaka, Ioka, Yaegashi, Hasegawa - there's half a dozen current or former world champs I rate higher than any of the clan.

Hell...the likes of Aoh, Igarashi, and Shimoda are probably no worse than on the same tier as the bros...

Inouye, Murata and even Nakamura will almost certainly blow past all the brothers in no time.

Daiki has just never been world class.

Koki was, years ago, but since moving up has been the recipient of more gift decisions than legit wins and has looked very pedestrian even against mediocre contenders.

Tomoki initially showed promise of perhaps surpassing them both, yet stumbled a bit in his two relative steps up to a pair of so-so Namibians. I thought he beat them both clearly (117-111 over Ambunda, while shutting Naidjala out) but showed a lot of holes in his game...effective but underwhelming.

Tomoki is head and shoulders above his brothers (especially Daiki) but I still don't see him being even on the bubble of top five p4p in the nation until he takes on significantly better opposition than Ambunda or Naidjala.

Don't forget to mention Kaneko who ran Uchiyama VERY close, Iwasa, Sho Ishida, Shingo Wake, Kosei Tanaka, Kogawa got robbed midweek in Thailand, Kohei Oba fights Randy Caballero soon, Masayoshi Nakatani, Keita Obara.

So much depth across the country and fans are missing out because they believe HBO and Showtime show all the best fighters. Niaevity is an adorably cute quality at times.

Yeah, from everything I've read and every clip I've seen (none more than a couple minutes long, unfortunately) he definitely got screwed. In most rounds it seemed he out-scored Freshmart by a huge margin...and while he occasionally got rocked that shouldn't erase nearly three minutes of volume and connects being completely one-sided.

I had actually planned to get up in the middle of the night (would have been 3am EST; 3pm local time as boxing in Thailand very annoyingly takes place in the afternoon instead of at night like the rest of the world...) and do a RBR for it but slept through my alarm. Hoping to be able to catch Suriyan Por Chokchai in a few hours, but it will depend on whether my alarm works.

Wouldn't bother with getting up for the Suriyan fight it's a mismatch.

Not too sure when the next major bout in Thailand is though.

No, I know, Alcoy is a horrible opponent; can't help myself though, I'm a Chokchai fan and boxing addict.

The alarm is going to **** my wife off, though...and she'll probably want to know what it was that was so important and won't be too impressed to hear it was a measly "WBC Asia Boxing Council" defense...:lol:

Really bummed I missed Freshmart vs. Kogawa, for multiple reasons. (it was a meaningful bout, it sounded - and looks, from what I have seen - exciting, and of course with the controversy it would have been nice to be able to score along live RBR myself)

So I think part of me wants to redeem myself by getting up in time for an inferior Thai card, just to 'get one back'. :yep Irrational yes but so it goes.

You missed nothing. Awful card. I do like how Srisaket is appeared very 3 or 4 weeks in msimatches to stay sharp. IF Ricky Hatton had to do that he'd have always been in shape.

Kosei very good. I favour Kosei to go farther than Takuma. Both were amateur rivals so that will build in to great domestic fight some time down the line.
