    :lol::lol::lol:

“Ross is trying to play chess with Arum,” the source concluded, “but he’s moving his pieces like they were checkers.”

that was indeed a pretty damn good read

so HBO's 2011 boxing revenue is going to be much dependant on Alexander/Bradley being a barnburner. What a stupid risk.

So, you're critical of HBO for investing and promoting Bradley-Alexander? In order to make the fight they had to make concessions and guarantee them another promoted fight regardless of the outcome. Boo hoo, now we have to live with Bradley/Alex winner fighting Khan and the loser fighting Maidana later in the year and all of them making good money. :|

Any boxing fan who is critical of this decision because it pisses off Arum should think about where their loyalty is.

    Pathetic.

"JUSTAFIGHTFAN" seems to be letting his nuthuggery for a fighter influence his loyalty to a crooked promoter.

What's next, are you going to criticize Greenburg for not going to the funeral?

    Some fight fan. :-(

Its bad business. HBO is investing 25% of their 2011 boxing budget on this fight. If it becomes a stinker oh well HBO has an obligation to let these guys rematch and showcase them both in another fight.

The whole situation has more to do than just Arum being angry. There are statements from numerous people involved in the sport that are angry with HBO. Maybe you should read the article before you comment on it. It only makes you look foolish and shows you are talking out of your ass.

I read the article and half of it is information about HBO not attending funerals, sending best wishes, etc. Great quotes from loose sources such as "member from team Pavlik", "former promoter". It's a planted Top Rank piece, nothing more nothing less.

And please don't talk to me about looking foolish after those tranny pics were found in your photo bucket a month or so ago :tired

Well thats actually good. Now HBO knows they cant drop the ball with stupid fights and if they dont then Arums screwed because he has been making crap fights and all in house fights so this venture im thinking will be only bad for Arum and very good for us fans. When there is fierce competitions with the networks we wont be fed Berto-Hernandez type of fights.

HBO also made a huge investment for the future. Saul Alvarez is the future of boxing and as long as he gives exciting fights they dont need Pac or PBF. Also as far as Gamboa im sure HBO turned them down because he would be facing another no name fighter who would get blown away in a few rounds so why not just have Alvarez and start building him up.

The only fight i want to see Gamboa in is either John, JML or Caballero

They are entitled to make whatever decision they want. They also offered WIlliams and Sergio to Cotto for that date and Arum didn't want to make those fights.

I'm all for competition and hopefully SHowtime and HBO competing for fights makes them both step up their game. We win if that happens.

Pat English has represented Main Events for almost 30 years. He’s one of the most respected attorneys in the boxing industry.

“There’s an incredibly high degree of frustration toward the actions of certain representatives of HBO,” English says. “Right now, some promoters have become so angry that they’d just as soon see HBO sink into the sea. There is an element of wanting to see HBO fail. I share some of that resentment but I think that’s the wrong reaction. I want HBO to be successful in boxing. I want Showtime to be successful in boxing. It pains me more than it angers me to see some of the decisions they’ve made at HBO in recent years. I was there [as the attorney for Main Events] during the heyday of boxing at HBO. Unfortunately, those days are past.”

Who do you think he is referring to when he mentions angry promoters who want to see HBO fail?
