It does actually sound like a good idea. I don't know how much it would matter but there would be a boost of sales possibly. With the 2lbs gone,the adavantage would look to be more for Alvarez. Many people see the catchweight as Floyd's ace in the hole.

Canelo has no advantage even if he comes at 180lbs, he is better off getting psyched into lower weights to ensure he is trained his best.

 

Makes no sense how him coming in at 152 would hype this fight up even more. If anything, him fighting at the full JMW limit would probably be seen as being more enticing for the boxing fans and media. The catchweight, which was the idea of Canelo's management team actually puts a little damper to this wonderful bout.
