Cintron seems like he has all the physical gifts in the world, but from all indications, his weak mentality will be his downfall. I don't expect him to be champion much longer, but still, having the IBF welterweight title is something he can always be very proud of.

I wonder what his training habits are like with Steward. He hasn't impressed me in 4 of his last 6 fights...similar to Jermain Taylor's struggles with Steward.

I don't know what Manny Steward is doing with Cintron. They need to work on his mental focus. They also haven't taught him how to properly control distance. Feliciano was just walking in closing the distance. Cintron needs to keep both hands up, work his jab effectively and circle. He gets caught up in brawls too easily even though that's not his strength.

So you don't think he was legitimately hurt against Margarito?!

I don't believe for a second that he boxed Hopkins to a standstill in sparring for two reasons.

    1) He's not good enough.

    2) On top of being worse, he's smaller.

Oh, and... 3) He got plastered by Margarito.

Hopkins doesnt like getting hit in a fight so i can imagine in sparring its the same thing so if he knew that Cintron had some pop i can see him fighting defensively and countering for 24 rounds

if the info is true, it confirms what most I thought all along. he has the physical tools but doesn't have the natural hunger, instinct as someone like Miguel Cotto. Its true to that saying, champions aren't made, they are born. The way this guy fights in the ring, he doesn't seem to be a born fighter.

I dont know Marnoff, this guy sounds legit to me.

Anything is possible in sparring, I have seen lesser fighters get the better of greater fighters in the gym many times. Sometimes they are having a bad day, sometimes they are working on something new, hell sometimes they are just carrying their lesser opponent to get some work in, or even trying to build his confidence.

I don't. I know he was stunned by that big right hand that cut his eye open. But never once did Cintron seem to be seriously hurt by any punch. If anything, it seemed to me that he was intimidated and folded under the pressure Marg was bringing. Dude was going down from punches that weren't even landing.

i agree with you. I remember Margo being hyped to the max right after that fight and then being called the most feared man in boxing, etc. I then saw the fight and said to myself, it wasn't that Margo was that devestating, this guy just broke mentally. Actually, they were even talking about it in ESPN fights, when he fought David Estrada... You know how Teddy Atlas says it as it is, he said Cintron broke down in the ring.

I honestly didn't see David Estrada hurt Cintron. he kept coming but he didn't hurt him IMO. It seemed to frustrate Cintron a bit the fact that he wasn't going away. However, the fight most recent with Feliciano, Cintron looked like a cadaver after the first couple of rounds. He looked dead in the ring and very very frustrated in his corner in between rounds.

Cintron mentally weak? well duh. You didnt have to tell me that as some sort of inside information or secret. I knew simply from the fact he did not call out margo for a rematch to avenge his loss. That is some ***** **** and is why I am not a fan. It is also why I know he will not amount to anything. And I live in harrisburg, PA which is right next to reading!!! He is going to get demolished by the Punisher. He stopped training becuase of some chic?! what the ****. This tells me all I need to know. This dude has no heart. I can't believe some ****ing chic is gonna call the shots for him because he wants to put the ***** on 'pedestal'. I mean, where are his balls? I am not ****ing rich, famous, or some great athlete, but there is no ****ing way I would stop training for a margo fight because of some *****. I tell bitches what to ****ing do or they gotta step. jesus christ, what a waste.

This inside info sounds ctrue. He does seem to have a mental problem and does seem to break down if things don't go his way.Talented yes,but mentally weak, also yes.His days as champ are numbered, especially in his current mental state.A shame.:-(

Wow, no mental strength, with all those physical gifts what a shame, quitting while running and half assed workouts......I cant support someone who just quits when things get tough. The Jury is out as far as Im concerned on this guy. I will be following with much scepticism from now on, hopefully what I read here is not true and Kermit proves me wrong.
