i sow agree wiith taino comments ........ i also say that cintron is still a great fighter and he stiil has way his chance in the division ! why are sow called boxing fans knocking him. where in an eror where probably the group of boxers in 1 division are all making noise . this is great 4 the sport. he had a bad night sow what. i hope the negativity that is about him puts more full in his tank.
When it comes down to it everyine makes there own decisions. You cant force anybody to do do something. We had a formula that was flawless for 24 fights. When he followed that formula he never came close to losing. When he decided to do it his own way he lost, and has looked terrible ever since. Thats not smearing him. Its the obvious truth. All I heard when he moved on to Manny was that he was becoming a much better boxer. Well pawing with your jab and punching from your hips is not what I would call an improvement. Struggling with fighters that have never cracked the top 10 is not an improvement. Its even worse considering he is now a belt holder and has yet to face a top 10 opponent. People on here have all kinds of opinions about Kermit, and thats just what they are... opinions based on what you see for 30 minutes of his life when he fights on TV. People had tons of questions and theories... well now you have direct inside info. The things Kermit has said about Marshall and I were totally unwarranted and unfounded. Fatc is he was making 7.50 an hour laying carpet when we met him. We took him in trained him, fed him, and guided him in many aspects of his professional and personal life. He lived with me exspense free for 3 years. So yeah it does **** me off when he says his old team couldnt get him to the next level. He was given every luxury a fighter could ask for if he were to really want to be a champion. He had 4 responsibilities. Eat, rest, train, and fight. Now you tell me what excuse could be made for a guy who has no burden in life but to pursue his dream. We were in camp for Margarito to do everything we had done in previous fights to prepare him for victory. The problem was he wanted to do it his way. He felt he no longer needed us and could do it on his own. The results speak for themselves. As for Manny Steward taking over. Well I think he last for performances validates Marshall and I. He never had so much as a close fight. If the version of Kermit that fought Teddy Reid and Elio Ortiz had fought Estrada or Feliciano you would have seen the blowout you expected.
dam bro that was deep ****. cant u guys been able 2 settle this between your selfs . i mean u led him to 24 victorias u must be able 2 get intouch with him rite?
over/under when cintron fights williams what rd will he start looking to his corner with terror in hsi eyes?
Well whats funn is I talk to his younger brother all the time. Jason has remaned close wit hMarshall and I, and yes I could get in touch with Kermit. But what he did in betraying Marshall and I is unforgivable. I could never overlook what he did. Not for any amount of prefessional success. I would rather work with the amateur kids thatappreciate what we do for them and come to the gym with nothing but an open mind and willingness to learn. We have a young amateur now thaqts really gonna be something he is 17-4 as an amateur and has reversed all his losses. He even beat one of the guys 2 times in return matches. The kid is amazing and is only in the gym 18 months. 5'10 130lber. Can punch and box, has fast hands, and is tough as NAILS. The best thing is he believes in us just as much as we do him. Thats far more rewarding than a reunion with Kermit could ever be.
With the way Williams starts it wont be long. I would say by the 2nd round he will begin to fall apart. Williams will either frustrate him to the point he might quit or stop him between the 4th and 7th round.
im glad u still trainng and brinnging up new talent up. it sucks 2 here things couldnt worked out the rite way. everything happens 4 areason maybe u guys well be better of with out him and him withought your camp.
i grew up a block from cintron. he never boxed until he was 19. he played wide receiver in football, wrestling, ran track, and played baseball. he started fighting after he left college.
This is great stuff and just what fans want - straight up information and opinion. If Kermit or others have an alternative opinion then let them back it up in the right where it really counts. Williams will dismantle Cintron by pumping jabs and combinations that will keep Cintron off balance. Williams is susceptable to the overhand right and Contron can throw that punch so it will be an interesting fight
This is the type of info I want when visiting the sports book. It really shows how we casual bettors are at a disadvantage....much the same as investing on Wall Street. Oil well.
Look, you guys need to just squash this ****. Kermit is going to lose eventually, and come back to Reading with his tail between his legs. He was young, and it sounds like you guys were close like family. Even family gets into beef. But what seperates family from everyone else is that they can learn to live together despite that. Forgive and forget. Professionaly speaking, yeah he screwed you guys over. But personally speaking, you guys have got a lot of years together and can make it right. When he comes back, try to bring him back to the gym and let him train and help out. This will mean more to him then anything else. I know what its like to work with friends, the money gets the better of both worlds. Face it, you guys took care of him because you thought he was an investment. Dont give me any other bull**** otherwise. If you were really boys, you would have let him go on his way and come back if he wanted to. Look at Jermain Taylor. Him and his original trainer are still close and Jermain went to Manny over him. I think there is more to the story here. I would like to hear Kermit's side. I just got this funny feeling like money had something to do with this.
bigeddie i agree with u about the money thing. i also dought there confidece as trainors 2 have another shot at a prize fighter 2 come out there camp. if they did they would probably let this issue just go away.
He does sound legitimate, I'll admit that. However, trying to say Cintron was able to go 24 rounds in sparring with Hopkins where it was "heated", as if both guys were giving their best? I'd also like to know when this was, and where. Add some more facts so it can be verified.
Yep, I question why a grown man would come onto a forum and reveal these sorts of things about another person. It tells me that the individual is severely bitter, and/or lying. The "fighting Hopkins to a standstill" thing is likely something to make this guy sound credible while he puts Kermit down in every other point he raises.
