I've never ever been big on Berto, and I honestly can't see him doing any better than Pac. Although he might not do much worse, either.

Mayweather himself admitted that he waited for Pac to show decline and it was the right time to face him now:yep

    Not in my eyes.

If either of them truly wanted the fight then, it would have happened.

Thats certainly pausible, but i do think this is a well deserved "soft" fight for floyd given he already beat Pacquiao.

I do, too. And I'm glad it's apparently going to be on network TV given that fact.

It's all a set-up to keep his record untarnished so he can cash out against a big name (probably one of the Big 3) for fight #50.

Unless Berto miraculously derails this plan, that's what I'm expecting. Most likely a Pacquiao rematch where they'll use the injury as a selling point.

Its understandable that floyd had just came back, while pac was the top dawg p4p, but floyd agreed to 50/50 split and requested drug testing.. why would manny reject it? There was alot of money to be made, and the public demanded that fight.manny walked away because he was scared of needles?? Cmon manny and roach knew they were to blame for the fight not happening in '10.

The fact Manny was the bigger draw at the time and p4p number 1 and someone accuses you of being on roids? you think team manny wouldn't of took issue to that?

Not only that it was unheard of at that time mayweather used it as his get out of jail card he only asked for it to run

And that's what it all comes down to.

    Two basic schools of thought:

    1. Why did Floyd demand extra drug testing?
    2. Why did Pacquiao decline it?

Floyd's demand was certainly not customary back then.

Fact is, neither guy aggressively pursued it. And then they both played their little game together, both jerking fans around, while they took softer touches in an effort to maximize profits with minimum risk, until they day came when everything was less meaningful.

What do you do when someone calls you a liar?? You prove them wrong right? Why didnt manny accept the fight under those circumstances and prove he got to the top by being a clean fighter? Answer me that

I scored it 117-111, and I think I may have been generous in 1 of the rounds I had given Pac (I only watched the fight live, and then once again the next day).

I don't see Berto winning more than 2 rounds, tops.

So I definitely expect him to do worse than Pac.

Even if it was not customary at that point in time, it's a very legitimate request considering how dirty sports are in general at the highest levels. Cycling/Tennis/Football/Boxing/MMA etc etc

A request that many others would have made.

A request that Timothy Bradley today enforces on all of his opponents. He even said that there would be NO FIGHT if there's no extra testing.

If you strongly believe someone is on the juice, then you have to do it. It's your life. :deal
