Ok, but it is odd for a little man like Pacquaio to be wrecking guys like cotto, margarito, "clottey", guys like that while keeping his power and speed, its really never been seen...everybody was amazed by that little guy, so i dont think floyd was wrong for demanding it, but it was suspicious as to why pacquaio didnt agree...."pac is scared of needles" isnt a good enough excuse in my book..

But things change in boxing...boxing was big on free tv back then, now all the big fighters fight on network tv and ppv ffs...this is a new era in boxing.

I think everyone knows that Pac was on that sauce back then.

How can anyone deny it? Roach even said so.

Big floyd fan and have been for years but this is a big **** you to the fans. He chooses berto for his last fight? I hope he gets caught by a Hail Mary punch in the first round and knocked out.

I think it's a case of would you prefer Berto for free or Khan on PPV, I'm still skeptical. Even with Berto I think with a decent co-main this will be a boxing "moment".

that's one way to get a fight isn't it, (assuming its true of cause) khan and briggs should take notice, this is how you get a fight!!

reminds me of the film "the campaign" when Will ferrell sleeps with opponents wife and makes a porno video out of it.

    Huge deal.

Similar to Oscar vs. Forbes seeing Oscar back on regular HBO for the first time in many years.

HBO ponied up the cash for it. The only way Team Oscar would accept the paycut would be if the opponent were vastly inferior to prior ones.

    ---

In the above, replace "Oscar" with "Floyd" and "HBO" with "CBS" and you have yourselves a perfect explanation.

Floyds worst opponent since 2005 Sharmba if this turns out to be true. Disappointing but in the modern state of the sport, none of us should be that surprised. Happens time and time with the greats, just Mayweather is held to a standard even above them all. Disappointed in his opponent for the first time in ages, honestly (once again, if true).

You could also replace "Oscar" and "Floyd" with the name "Sugar Ray Leonard" ... replace "Forbes" and "Berto" with the name "Terry Norris" ... and replace "HBO" and "CBS" with "Showtime."

After huge money closed circuit fights with Hagler, Hearns, Duran, Lalonde ... a 35-year-old Leonard agreed to go back on cable TV and fight on Showtime in 1991 against a guy he "knew" he could beat from a smaller weight class ... in Terry Norris.

Despite being a huge favorite against a guy who'd already been KOed and decisioned and lost on a DQ, Leonard was beaten up, floored repeatedly and lost an embarrassing decision that sent him into retirement for the umpteenth time.

You never know what's going to happen in boxing.

Berto has taken some hard losses. He also looked very good last time out. And he's never - even when he's getting his head beat in - in a boring fight. It was the same with Norris.

And Mayweather is nearly 40 years old. It hasn't affected Floyd yet. But age is one of those things for a fighter that will sometimes catch up to you all at once in one fight.

And Berto isn't a guy from a smaller weight class - like Forbes and Norris were. Berto has been a career welter.

Given Floyd's age, and Berto's ability to take a huge beating and keep coming, this could be a Mayweather bout that becomes an actual "action" fight.

If it's on CBS in prime time, all the better.
