Can you think of any? One that come to mind is Floyd and Ortiz where Mayweather continually refers to the notorious quitter Vicky Ortiz as being a 'young hungry lion' when in reality Ortiz is more like a deer that's about to get caught in the headlights.
Mosley before the Pacquiao fight (honestly) lol Allan Green before the Ward fight LMAO (Garbage) Matthew Hatton before the Canelo fight LOOOOOOOOL Coming Soon Morales before the Khan fight (LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL)
did pacquiao say anything other than the usual "he is a good fighter and we should train for this fight for the fans" to make you believe that he is hyping his opponent?
Amir Khan overhyped Paul McCloskey. Good call on Floyd. He knows he can't lose to Ortiz, but he's trying to make us think he's fighting an opponent who poses a threat to his precious "0". Don't be fooled: put all your money on Floyd. When a fighter does that, you can be sure his opponent is a bum who is about to get knocked out.
Pac does this before fights. He's dangerous, I have to train hard, blah blah blah but in reality Mosley had no chance in hell to beat Pac. Floyd does this after fights usually. Gatti was a bum, a D class fighter, etc etc before the fight but after the fight nothing but praise.
i think there is a difference between not taking your opponents lightly and overhyping your opponent.
he said Mosley was going to be the smartest fighter he ever fought. Arum did most of the selling though
Pac has never overhyped anyone. He's never even HYPED anyone period. all he's ever said were nice things about the opponent.
I didn't say he did. I think arum does it though. I was just pointing out that Pac did say some extra things for Mosley, but I don't think he as trying to sell him
