Great fight. Two men bent on inflicting van damage

 

at the time me and a couple of non boxing fan mates watched this with all the build up ,the mexico-rico thing, the intensity of it all and the manner of the victory blew them away but mcgrain is right imo ,the way things have transpired since takes a great great deal of the shine off it for me


still at the same time cotto hit him with everything he had (mostly slick combos on the backfoot granted) and margarito walked through it. hes a brave cheater

 

This was a "war" for about four rounds. After that, the only drama was whether Miguel would see the end.

 

About a couple of 100 of us flew over from England for this absolute CLASSIC:yep without doubt one of the best matchups at WW in the last 10 years easy, ****in great atmosphere, i got it spot on at 22/1 for the late Margo stoppage & 3/1 for the KO, everyone new how the early rounds were going too go & it was just a case of whether Cotto could keep out of Margo's way 4 the second half of the fight.

What affected Cotto the most was that 2nd round when i think he got some serious nose damage from an uppercut that really ****ed his breathing up, i know a load of folk will say the fight is somewhat tainted by it ai'nt been proved + it was a classic style match up which panned out just as bert Sugar & i said it would & we were in the minority for sure as all my mates done their balls lumping on Cotto at the MGM book Happy days indeed:happy

 

definitely. although it was the only fight ive had the privilege of going to. such an awesome fight. great post.

 

not really. i was wondering into the 7th how many more bombs to the chin margarito would be able to take. after that, though, it was pretty evident that cotto was losing steam...

After watching both from the armchair i dont see how the Pavlik/Taylor was a better fight than Cotto/Margy.

 

After the 9 round, before the 10 round, exactly :39 seconds into the 10 Capetillo say's in spanish. “By now your punches should be solid, hard solid, throw more power punches” Please, Margarito..Hmmm.:yep

 

Yessur he did i think he slipped up or maybe i'm still butt-hurt But he did say those word's.
