Yeah, I really don't mean to disparage Cotto's effort, especially post Wrapgate. I just felt like it was pretty easy to see which way the wind was blowing in this one. His body language and the way he was getting moved around made the whole thing feel inevitable to me.

Shame on Margo/ Capetillo for in all likelihood cheating their way to this "win". :-(

You must be into self mutilation:lol: Any TAYLOR fight is SHITE, we all loved the Pavlik fight due too Kelly after his Miranda fight & obviously the shock win over Taylor, from that shock view i'd agree if you were rooting for him it'd be a fantastic night:yep

But 4 us brits it'll always be the Mex/Rico/latin match-ups that take pref that make us endure the 12,000 mile 30/36 hr round trip as we know we are always going 2 get a top tear up:smoke

Just because a fight isnt all out action or a war doesnt mean someone cant rate it higher then a fight that is...

Cotto being undefeated, it being for the true welterweight championship of the world, the eb and flow of the fight, the atmosphere, the dramatic ending.... i couldnt care less if it was cottos best action fight, the fight is a classic, and ranks higher imo then a fight like torres where it was techinically a better action fight, but fails to live up to cotto margarito due to the stakes.

that being said... Its hard for me to watch this now as i have no doubt really to me that margarito cheated. Cotto was hardly touched the first 4 rounds... didnt take THAT MUCH punishment in the 5th and 6th though he started eating some shots... then the last half of the fight it looks like someone took a bat to his face? And people try talking down about him 'quitting'... the guys a ****ing warrior and if margaritos gloves were indeed loaded, hes lucky the fight stopped when it did. im glad that fight didnt take more out of cotto then it did.... a lot of fighters would have been done after that fight.

You've probably already watched the fight a bunch of times just like I have, but I'd say watch the first six closely again some time. Margo was getting there with some pretty serious stuff as early as the second. Kellerman being the more voluble member of the team might have drowned out Steward, (who as we all know always sees everything coming), who was pointing out already how much energy Cotto was burning playing keep away. It was seriously reminiscent of Freitas - Corrales.

    Truth.

Sorry - When did Margarito's chin get wrapped?

Cause Cotto had a good 6 rounds of hitting him at will...

Would like to see a rematch Cotto v Margy, although Margy should be banned for life.

I figured if he didn't even phase him by the 5th Cotto was in serious trouble. It came down to if he could make it to the end and get a decision. That night it was a hell of a fight but like everyone else I feel its lost alot of its luster

i just couldn't believe how much harder cotto was hitting margarito and how much less damage there was to margarito. it seriously looked like margo was punching underwater. its not like cotto's head was getting snapped back hard or anything and look at his ****in face.. he got hit with some hard shots later on in the fight because he just didn't have the energy to get out of the way anymore, but ****ing hell, by the end of th fight i couldn't believe those ridiculously slow punches could have nearly the pop to full destroy a guy's face like that.

I agree. Combine that with the suspicious talk in Margarito's corner about "your punches should be solid by now" and a few other awkward statements and I truly believe Margarito cheated against Cotto. However, Cotto fought a pretty bad fight as well in terms of not clinching and his stamina was pretty awful as well. But hey, I look at it this way - AM might have cheated against Cotto but on his next fight he got caught trying to cheat AND got his ass handed to him. Karma's a *****...
