Johnson is a better fighter than Pavlik and even tho his fanbase isnt as big, hes fought the best while Bute only 2nd and 3rd tier fighters. He should know GJ is well respected and easily the biggest fight of Butes career up to this point while this is just another day in the office for Johnson only here they want to shortchange Johnson! And the whole world knows Roadwarrior never stepsdown from a fight so this is a failed attempt from Butes team to make Bute look like everybody is ducking him when in reality no one wants to fight him because they are lowballing his opponents. He needs to learn from Glen and fight outside Canada or Romania every now and then fight in America.

 

So over the last few month bute has approached mikel, kelly and glencoffe? I for one an glad he's stepping up to the plate now.

 

Hes about as ready to fight them, as Bradley was to fight Khan

I like a Bute-Cloud fight a lot, it's an entertaining match up. Bute would fit very nicely at light heavyweight with Pascal, Hopkins, Dawson, and some of the guys who move up from 168. My concern would be that if Bute moves up, even at a catchweight, he might be done with 168. The fight I really want is Bute vs Super 6 winner, its a good fight that has been building to this point for a while. My preference is to see Bute stay at 168, face Johnson, then the Super 6 winner but if he goes to 175, especially with a Cloud fight right off the bat, then I won't complain too much.

 

I don't believe this offer is legit at all. Sounds like it's april fools day.

I think this is a stall tactic while they negotiate a bigger fish.

 

My criticism of bute has always been his quality of opponent. By the sounds of it he's sorting that out. Hopefully come fight night he'll be against a legitimate name.

I hope its only a way for Johnson to have more money and the fight can happen. Johnson deserve more of course. I agree with the 500k$ offer other poster proposed.

 

I'd guess the offer is probably about $200-$250k. Significantly less than $350k...
