Interbox and Team Bute at it again...Johnson offered a whooping $350.000 or less

I think they are having trouble TBH. It's about a month since they said a contract was about to be signed. I don't think Sauerland wants a pursebid at all and I also believe SES will avoid Kessler if they can.

Of course the delay in announcing the fight could also be due to holidays in Europe.

 

I'm sick of hearing about this cherry picking, China Chinned Hype Job. Lucie Bootie is a Glass Jawed Fraud that's going to be exposed for the joke that he is as soon as he steps up and leaves Canada.

OK, I get it.....Let's all hate on BUTE for lowballing the Road Warrior with a payday that's more than twice what he got for Froch, and at the same time offering him an instant title fight after a loss.

Let's face it people, especially the BUTE haters here......Pavlik was the best north american fight to be made with Ward tied up with Froch. Pavlik himself raises US interest in this fight. Kessler raises Euro interest with this fight. How much is he getting vs Steiglitz? Not NEAR what he'd gotten to face BUTE. Pavlik woulda gotten much more to fight Cunningham and Bute than any other comeback fights than I can remember.

Johnson deserves a better split, but this is the first offer and we should take it with a grain of salt. At least it's been made, and EARLY.

I like Johnson, but his name doesn't exactly fill seats anymore and it certainly won't increase shares as compared to Pavlik or Kessler, so he will get a significantly lesser amount than those two. Kessler obviously being the biggest draw of the 3.

Maybe BUTE should just move up and get it over with. Ward will duck him should he get past Froch, leaving Bute to wait for guys like Froch, Dirrel, Kessler, and JOhnson to keep him fighting at SMW.

I like the idea of Bute vs Cloud. It would be a good fight and be a big draw for both guys. Bute should get more $$$, but of course if that it to happen people will find a way to say Bute was trying to duck him by only offering him 51/49.:rofl:rofl

 

that's actually not a bad purse considering Johnson is not a huge draw and is coming off of a loss.

+ he has a chance to become world champion and land a mega fight if he wins it.

 

Do you have a source for Johnson getting less than 175K for Froch? I believe I read or heard he got some ½M or thereabout.

 

I think some people overvalue thye economic power of Glen Jonhson here. It's not about what he deserve, it's the revenue he can generate.

 

super 1/2 finals was 1,5 million or 2 million ? so it make 66/33 or 75/25 and i think it can be real . But nobody have bring fact about Johnson purse agains't Froch

 

Boxing fans know the value of Glenn but 75% of Bute's fans are casuals and will only look at Glenn records and think that Mendy was a better opponent. a lots of peoples who go see Bute fight live go there to be part of it and don't know much about boxing so it's harder to sell Johnson to them.
