Following a document leak which seem to look like Bolonti tried to win by DQ, Interbox refused to pay the 50 000$ Bolonti was promised and are currently consulting a lawyer to see if they can sue him. The fight was oficially supposed to be a DQ win, but an official on place at the bell center had the referee judge it a no contest taking into account the suspicious way Bolonti made his way to the canvas. source: http://www.habsolumentfan.com/interbox-songe-poursuivre-bolonti/2014/12/35489
Quitting is part of boxing. The guy should be paid. Promoter have to assume that some boxers might have no pride (a real minority of them but still).
It's because his promoter told him to quit come fight night in order to get a DQ win, which is some shady **** that shouldn't be accepted.
when you purposely throw a fight at proffesional ranks...and ppl pay to watch you...then yes i think ppl should be partially reffunded and then gym should sue bolonti and his team.... this isnt wwe
Hadn't Pascal intentionally fouled him, all this wouldn't have happened. I wonder if they would sue Pascal as well.
That's why I think they won't have a very strong case. Pascal clearly fouled him and should have been DQ'd according to the rules if Roberto Baloney would have been on the level. Word is they screwed the guy over multiple times since arriving in Canada and he saw a way for payback with interest when Pascal hit him after the break. Was pretty clear that if it had been the other way 'round, Bolonti had been DQ'd and it wouldn't have been a NC at all. I'm not defending the guy in any way, because he clearly pulled a Dirrell, but the circumstances seem to be such that it's not all that strange that he pulled that stunt.
Pascal fouls the dude and Pascal is suing?Incredible that the fans put up with this horse sh it!Pascal should have been loser via disqualification. Quebec boxing at it's finest.atsch
In Pascal's case, there is the fact that he got hit on the ear at the exact moment when Griffin called "Break". But you hear "no punch, no punch" after and Pascal, then, punched the guy in the face. Griffin gave first he decision : DQ. But something changed during the 14 minutes Bolonti was faking and they called it an intentional foul, no contest. While I agree it was a hometown decision, it was a legitimate howtown decision. Bolonti doesn't have a case at the world level and that decision basically cemented a fight with Kovalev, which is basically, one of the biggest fight at 175 right now.:deal Montreal boxing scene has been pretty fair to boxers all these years Bute-Andrade and Pascal-Bolonti aside. Andrade received a rematch and nobody cares about Bolonti at this point, really.
micheal griffin is a very very good ref...he had made the call as a dq....but after talking with (head athletic sports commisioner) ringside the guy told griffin to change the ruling to a NC.... it was not griffin who made the final call
