    Not really much to misunderstand.

You think its wrong for people on this topic to wish harm on mcclellan. The important thing is no one is actually carrying out these so called revenge acts so thats all you need to know for you to shut the ****, and worry about something else other than what people wish.

Mcclellan had a great chin, but a terrible defence; a recipe for disaster when facing murderous punchers like Jackson and Benn. The 1st fight against Jackson probably caused a lot of damage, and the Benn fight compounded that damage to a critical degree.

How did Benn escape brain damage though? He faced a lot of big punchers and took a lot of big punches....................perhaps it was lucky he never faced Julian Jackson.

i'm sick of this ****ing myth that benn was given too much time to get back in the ring and should have been counted out for not getting back in 10. here's a rule i bet you didn't know existed...

"If a boxer is knocked out of the ring, he gets a count of 20 to get back in and on his feet. He cannot be assisted."

you give too much attention to the ref and too little credit to benn.

You are spot on PluginBaby. So many posters on ESB are either kids or blokes(mainly American) that no almost nothing about boxing. In addition to your above example I will supply two others:-

    1) The ignorance of how to score a fight, leading to many thinking that Collazo should have received the decision over Hatton.

    2) A thread a few months back entitled 'Who wins? Prime Hagler v Prime Plopkins? Not only that, but Plopkins received more votes!!!!:patsch

Benn was allowed 20seconds for falling out of the ring - that is the rule. The ref was incompetant but its not his fault McCellan used his face as his defensive guard

Agreed, though Hatton barely beat Collazo IMO

he was poor yes, but the g-man still had chances to take benn out in that round when he had him in the ropes but didn't take them. tough ****ing ****, benn survived, and went onto to tragically batter gerald.

What about THE CHANCES HE SHOULD HAVE HAD AND WAS DENIED:huh

McClellan didnt hip toss Benn out of the ring, he EARNED his opportunities, which where then DENIED.

Tough ****ing ****?? More like, BULL ****ING ****:yep

The resultant tragedy just amplifies how wrong it was and illustrates that combatants and athletes putiing it ALL ON THE LINE, have a right to a fair and unbiased fight. Let actions speak, not ref's INTERFERE:nono

It was AND WILL ALWAYS BE A ****ING DISGRACE on the sport.
