I have just cut out a small exctract on the article.

Kim says how initially he though the Prince would destroy Barrera until he saw Hameds training camp in Palm springs. He swayed heavily to BArrera because he thought Hamed wasnt taking Barrera seriously.

"It’s ridiculous and completely erroneous to pin Hamed’s only loss all on Steward. One thing you fail to mention is that ‘the Prince’ lost to a first-ballot hall of famer (Marco Antonio Barrera). But more to the point, Steward didn’t call the shots on Hamed’s training camp for that fight and he wasn’t Hamed’s sole trainer (he had to share that “honor” with Oscar Suarez, who had the little elf’s ear). Take it from someone who was able to observe both camps for that fight (as Hamed trained in Palm Springs and Barrera trained in Big Bear), the not-so Fresh Prince did not take Barrera seriously and Steward had nothing to do with that attitude nor could he change it."

Probably why Hamed retired at 27,,, hed lost the hunger in his belly completey.

I am not a big hamed Fan, but I still believe a focused Hamed under his former tutor would have been too much for Marco.

Fair play to Marco, for me still his best ever win.

I agree entirely. The light that burns twice as bright burns out twice as fast.

According to Brendan Ingle (Hamed's original trainer) Naz stopped training properly when he won the WBO title in 1995. Wasted talent.

this doesn't change nor will it ever change the fact that Hamed was owned by Barrera great fighters, no great champions find a way to motivate themselves

Hameds performance against Augie Sanchez prior to the BArrera fight should have suggested that Hamed was on the slide.

Sanchez would't have lasted 2 mins in Hameds prime.

I agree, but it is clear that Hamed was a great talent, it's just how he squandered it means that he was not a great champion.
