http://www.fighthype.com/pages/content11932.html I think that Top Rank hasnt done their best with Gamboa's career thus far, and can understand him looking to get out from under them (as many other fighters have).
Stoped reading tht **** after he said Lopez was fighting gimmes while gamboa fights hi risk low reward like ****ing matagwua when ****ing Lopez fought him first **** the writer juanma is on his way back what about Ponce DeLeon he was a gimme also right
Why is Mayweather actually being blamed in any of this? Yes, the whole situation could have been handled smoother by all parties, and by all parties is Gamboa, and Top Rank, and whoever his joint deal is with. As fans, we want to see what we want to see, but some of us would not work a minimum wage job if we felt we were better than that. I have no idea how much Gamboa makes. I have no idea what expenses he has, but if his signature isn't on the line, he can't be accountable for anything. A verbal agreement is one thing. We've all agreed to certain things before, and maybe every now and then might not have kept our word. At the same time, if the company wanted to arrange all travel arrangements, and rent out the venue for press conference, I'm sure there had to be some sort of notification that Gamboa wasn't going to show. Of course everyone can hold out hope and wish he'd show. Don't forget, we've seen baseball players, football players, and basketball players all hold out until they get what they wish for. Boxing is no different. What's best for us may not be whats best for the boxer.
