I guess Bob (and his advisors) thinks that Mikey won't be coming back to 135 after the Spence fight. Regardless of the outcome.

Yes, I think that's possible. But it will be very difficult to accomplish without negotiating with Hearn. And that means to give him something in return. For example, acquiescing to Loma fighting Crolla on DAZN.

 

i could see it. i dont think mikey is coming back to 135 when half the fighters at 147 will bring him more money. in a year there wont be anybody worth fighting at 135 except loma. teo could fight this spring to get on the wbc rankings, fight for the title in the fall, and have a showdown with loma in december. loma really shouldnt prolong it any longer than that, for his own sake.
i think arum is going to bet big on lopez, he can sell tickets with his controversial persona if he keeps winning and he knows there are some big fights at 140 for teo in a couple years. there are some exciting undefeated young fighters all set to make a name for themselves at jr welter. theres enough talent at 140 that when they finally sort themselves out, the top dog will get lots of cred like uzyk did, whether they deserve it or not. thats whats in this kids future, and the cunning old man knows it.
although, i think, because he is cunning, he is going to let teo move to 140 without loma, let him get big, then make the loma fight when theres no other big fights left for loma below 140. a lot can happen in 2 years.

 

The only way Lopez can get WBC belt is either Mikey vacated it or he lost his next fight by KO.

Other than that, get in the line.

 

He also mentioned he wants Lopez to fight Campbell and Peraza this year, so presumably becoming mando by beating Campbell
