The first time I watched this fight I watched it on mute as a judge. I thought Marquez won by 1 point. After rewatching it as just a boxing fan and with crowd sounds. I thought Pacman took the fight easily. He was more aggressive and accurate. I also thought while scoring it as a judge that it was a somewhat boring fight. As a fan it was damn exciting!

This is why cornermen and trainers seldom make good judges.

Probably because they just wanted to stop Cotto, he was coming off the hatton win and wanted to make him look like a monster.

However when your struggling against an old, bloated fighter and getting your ass handed to you the red lights went on.

    Marquez 8-4. End of

No doubt Roach say's the "We are losing" line to Manny to get Pac to open up and go all out...

But in the case of JMM Vs. Pacquiao III Roach was being 100% sincere.
(He & Manny both knew & KNOW they lost that fight... All that matters)

I am puzzled by this fight.

After taking part of the reactions I took for granted Manny had been made looking silly, but did manage to win on deceptive grazing shots.

But after watching it myself, some close rounds in slow mo, my conclusion is that Manny simply outboxed Marqueez in a chess game of a fight.

Roach was great he got Manny to step on the gas and win 4/5 of the late rounds.
Manny was doubling and tripling landed punches as JMM was muted fighting 1/4
    of each round.

Marquez let the fight slip right through his fingers when he backed off at the start of round 10.

"We're losing Manny, you gotta put this guy on his ass."- Freddie Roach before the start of the 12th round.
