Before I get started I just wanna say Im not trying to start a fight on here Showtime on demand has Floyd fights that were brought over from HBO but the commentary is subbed out with Sheridan and Bontempo, I dont really know if it was live but for another broadcast or if it was recorded later after the fact Anyway the commentary had some interesting points and though Im not gif savvy or anything I think their points were interesting First Sheridan had it a draw giving Oscar 2,3,4,7,8,9 which for many on ESB is too generous, he had 4 and 8 as the rounds he considered swing rounds. He also said his scores are typically similar to Tommy Kazmariks (sp) who he went to for scoring seminars Kazmarik is the one judge who scored for Oscar, watching this commentary crew sort of put in perspective what maybe Kazmarik saw that much of the forum sees as the wrong score that night Sheridan talked over Bontempo most of the night and the majority of points came from him so here were their combined points but mostly Sheridans: -Floyd in the rounds that Sheridan scored against him just did not throw enough despite success when he did -Oscar was the one getting off first in many exchanges -When the punch stat figures were shared in round 7 or 8 Sheridan was surprised and thought there was no way they were right as he felt many of what Floyd was credited with hit gloves -Big focus on Oscars legs, Bontempo mentioned this early and Mosley pre fight apparently according to them said Oscar needed his feet closer together to create a strong push from the back foot -As the fight got to the 10th they noticed Oscars legs from fatigue got further apart and punches that did land were falling short and his ability to cut off the ring was diminished -They both felt Oscar was too straight on, was not punching his way in and Bontempo was saying Oscar needed to get out after landing a combination and he would linger in no mans land and let Floyd score back to even a flurry I found their perspective interesting but it in no way changes who i felt won though I did find myself watching to see Oscar pick off shots with the back of his gloves and he did block a lot more than i remember. Also his right hand was pretty effective, one he landed at the tail end of round 11 seemed to either knock his head straight back or Floyd rolled with it but it seemed like a good solid land
Floyd began to really pull away after rd 8 i believe. DLH.made sure to finish very strong.in the last 30 seconds or so in the rds. DLH did have some good moments but to give him 6 or 7 rds is just not scoring each rd as a whole. It was competitive but clear victory for Floyd.
