Benn would've made HUGE bucks v Leonard, Hearns, Duran and Nunn all in Vegas

If not for Eubank beating him

Funny thing is, HE'D OF KNOCKED THEM ALL OUT!

It does indeed, it was big news at the time when Arum was promising the glittering Benn those fights.

Boom Boom was being set up for either a mega showdown with Macho
Man or the Hawk before losing to Bramble.

Ellis had a rotten 1969, then. I know about the cancelled fights with Henry Cooper and Gregorio Peralta. Didn't know about a Cleroux shot. But wasn't there a third fight scheduled for Ellis that fell through? Or am I thinking of Cleroux?

Bob had a signed fight with Ellis, lost split dec tuneup in his home town, Cooper was miffed it was not gonna be considerd a title shot in LONDON (who could blame him , and threw his british belt in the trash) Peralta, they did not come up with the cash.

Ronny, with Cooper, I believe the actual story was the BBB of C was not aligned with the WBA and simply told Cooper, "no, you can't fight for this title, we don't recognize it." And Cooper, in protest, returned his British championship belt. Of course, several years earlier the BBB of C also told this to Brian London when he was offered the Patterson fight - possibly something about him being an unworthy challenger - and he told them where they could stick it and took the fight anyway. Was probably fined by them, but he had a shot at a world title and took it.

THANKS for the clearup, I'm sure Ellis would have defeated all 3. (Cleroux, Cooper, Peralta). Maybe they should have penciled in Billy Joiner vs Ellis for they Cleroux upset.-JOINER WOULD SOON LOSE TO VETERAN ZORA FOLLEY. Folley's last listing (WBA) TOP TEN.

Cooper than beat WBA ranked Bodell for the BRITISH BELT AGAIN, lost to Bugner , who lost to Bodell. (these guys traded top ten ratings)
