also i noticre he avenged all his losses as an amateur, shame he hasnt with presscot, but i guess the pro game is more about money then avenging losses.

Ellie Seckback had an interview with some of the fighters or trainers who actually saw that fight and from what I understand it was a RSC (referee stops contest). That happens all the time when you have a faster fighter who racks up a bunch of POINTS, doesn't necessarily mean he was hurt.

Khan: "Not a lot of people know that I boxed Ortiz in the amateurs and I stopped him in the second round. I beat him in the 2003 Junior Olymipc Games in Louisiana, and I remember the whole American team coming up to and saying, 'You're not going to beat this guy.' But the guy didn't hit me once. He was the number-one guy and going into the fight he was unbeaten for so long, so the odds were completely against me."

    RSC indeed.

This is how I'd see this fight going if they ever fight each other.

it would be like the Maidana (for Khan) fight but tougher - depending on whether Ortiz can handle the pressure mentally.
Khan would defintly try and break Ortiz down early.

well rsc applies to all TKO's, being counted out is vary rare in the amateurs.

Yeah I've heard what Norman wrote, never heard Ortiz was actually KO'd or hurt.

It was stopped because the rules state if a fighter gets a 20 point lead it must be stopped. It wasn't a K.O. but he must have been schooling him.

Ortiz doesnt seem like he'd be completley suited to the amatures anyways. There is no way Khan would be able to go through his fight and school him, if Khan was to win he'd at least at one point get majorly rocked and deserve some props for pulling through. Would me an extreme version of the Maidana fight.

Kindelan was a damned good boxer. Very smooth and skilled.

As for Khan vs Ortiz, it's unfortunate that there isn't any footage out there of the amateur match. Either way, the pro game is obviously different, and they're older now. Ortiz would pose stylistic issues for Khan...pressure, power, fast hands, and the ability to work on the inside. Khan is mentally stronger, though (in terms of consistency) and his quick flurries would land against someone with little defence like Ortiz. It would actually be a pretty good fight.

They seem to get on fairly well (Seckbach also mentions their amateur bout in front of them, and Khan starts laughing):
