Don't know why Foreman thinks Frazier would give Wlad trouble. To me Frazier is too slow and does not have enough reach to give Wlad trouble. Plus Wlad could easily lean over him with 100 percent success.
Aggression, workrate, a decent punch, and constant head movement against a guy who doesn't have an uppercut would be my guesses.
Vlad was the first to knock Axel Schultz out, knocked him out in the 8th round. Schultz beat the Hell out of Foreman, Foreman could not even hurt Schultz. The criminal judges gave the fight to Foreman by split decision, but there were so many complaints because it was a one-sided fight in favor of Schultz, so a rematch was ordered, Foreman gave up his IBF title rather than fight Schultz in a rematch. Vlad would have easily knocked out Foreman, Ali, Holyfield, Tyson, Holmes, Spinks, Weaver, Tate, etc.................Foreman is just plain wrong..................
I thinking Frazier is too slow because Wlad is quick and long. Comparing the speed of Frazier to Chambers and Hayes and Wlad had no trouble avoiding their punches.
You might want to watch a few fights from his prime('67-'71) before posting stuff like this. Joe would have Wlad's right hand timed by the 3rd round and commence to landing that left hook through the guard, around the guard and everywhere in between.
Um. I didn't want to bring this up (seemed a bit disrespectful), but "The Slowest" didn't exactly refer to his speed in the ring. He was just a little...well, slow. Remember all those press conferences where Frazier talked rings around him? Yeah. That. So, now that you've made me feel guilty (and thanks for that, Boxed; thanks a million), I can at least point out that he was pretty sharp when he was actually inside the ring. Picture a slower Eddie Chambers, but without ballistic armor plating concealed in his trunks.
I...Oh, right. Of course! Wow. For a moment there, I thought you might have misinterpreted my comment to be a dig at Chambers's oversized trunks, instead of the ***** allusion that it so clearly was. And wouldn't that have been embarrassing?
Haye, Chambers, Brock etc. know how to slip a jab. They just couldn't against Klitschko because he can vary the speed of his jab like no other. People try to estimate speed, inaccurately a lot of times, and do not even consider the even more important but harder to measure "timing". Brewster didn't have much success bobbing and weaving against Klitschko until the Ukrainian gassed, neither did Byrd for that matter.
Yeah, they all know how to slip a jab, but excelling at slipping and ducking while moving forward is a different kettle of fish. Frazier did the latter. That was his game. Chambers, Haye, and Byrd were primarily counterpunchers. Yeah, they knew how to slip punches moving forward (just like Tyson knew how to be a stick-and-move fighter, and Wlad knows how to bob and weave...), but did they make their careers out of aggressive forward movement like Frazier? Was it their area of expertise? Not really. Frazier's timing was also pretty good. And varying the speed of a jab -- while it helps quite a bit -- doesn't negate competent head movement.
Completely different styles, Wlad doesnt throw often enough he waits and gives to much respect to any fighter, Lennox Foreman Vitali would not let him stay there with his safety pin and think all 3 KO him!!! He didt have guts to attack Haye...
This interview is from 2011, before Foreman was a part of Wlad's show IIRC. There he was saying something else. IMO if Foreman destroyed Frazier, I don't see why Wlad wouldn't be competitive against him. Again, when Haye couldn't land his shots, and I think he's faster and bigger than Frazier, what makes some of you sure Frazier would walk trough Wlad? When some say nobody knows Klitschko. Well, for example in Europe (specifically centre and eastern), I would say only boxing fans know who George Foreman is, while most people know who Klitschko is. Do you see my point? Some people (especially in the USA) have a hard time comprehending that there's an outside world with people beyond their borders, that their country is not the centre of the Universe.
atsch:rofl Shot to **** CW Mormeck went 4 rounds with Wlad but Foreman would get knocked out:roflatsch Klittards at their finest, when did Wlad last KO someone in first couple of rounds??? didnt do it to Pianeta, Wach, Chambers, shot to **** Mercer etc but he would KO Foreman early:rofl
