I just read an interview with Karsten Röwer, current trainer of Jürgen Brähmer and former trainer of Odlanier Solis.
Brähmer was considered as talent of the century as an amateur. Fought and won against the likes of Ricky Hatton, Felix Sturm or Carl Froch.

Röwer said: You might not believe it, but I still remember exactly against whom and, more important, the way how Jürgen boxed (back in 1996). The highlight was a fight against a Cuban in the second stage of the tournament. It was a big thing, a dream of a fight from Jürgen. The hometown fans were completely quiet.
The cubans are crazy for boxing. The whole tournament was a blast. We lived in a gym like school building, very simple stuff. Jürgen had problems with his teeth, he had to skip sparring before. We had to do it right there, against a lhw.
And what happened? Jürgen, as a ww at 67kgs made a fool of the Cuban. The cuban trainers came to me and said "Your boxer's gonna be a worldchamp in the future". And I guess they were right."

Röwer was educated and trained by Fritz Sdunek. After being asked about his time as trainer of Odlanier Solis he said:

"Actually, Solis was the best boxer I have ever trained, speaking of skills. Unfortunately he had other problems. He was so lazy, his weight was never right and he received everything as a present (he never had to work for stuff). His jewelry, his big luxury cars. It didn't work out. Solis needs people and an environment that look after him and work for him, nostop, 24 hours. I can vividly remember our first meeting, when I trained him. He weighed 118kgs. So, as a consequence, I went to jog with him, every morning. He wouldn't have done that on his own.
In tiptop shape, Solis could have beat Vitali. But in my opinion, his time seems unfortunately to be already over.
