Oh good lord what have we come to. Will people stop at nothing to degrade a man's victory? Yes Lewis said to Vitali 'wait Vitali just hold still a second whilst I find my seam...wait...yes....there it is...got you!... right let's carry on.' There is no way Lewis in the heat of combat would intentionally have cut Vitali and where is the proof anyway. Bloody hell this is tedious stuff.

    unfortunately, it's not that uncommon

as for proof in this fight, well thats a different story

    semantics..

in all honesty I have Holyfield way above Lewis on an ATG list..but that said Lewis is light years ahead of either Klitschko.

i'm sure you respect the difference... especially when some dumbasses were recently arguing that Vitali is a top ten ATG .

I'd barely give Lennox my top ten ATG heavyweight list... but either of the Klitschkos now.... not a chance. in the future, who knows

Isn't it funny how this particular fight is the ONLY one that this ridiculous argument has been applied to. Cut's, accidental butts, accidental low blows etc. are all part of boxing, it's been happening since they fought with bare knuckles.

Not likely, they could make top 15, but unless they're pushed by legit contenders and get past them, it's not likely. It's not really their fault, they're both damn good boxers but they don't have the competition to allow them to get into the top eshleon.

Indeed..but Lewis just didn't cut him, he zero'd in on it afterwards and made it much worse..that's what pro's do in that situation. But the other two cuts weren't accidents at all, they were caused by straight on punches.

well, Tyson didn't have great competition either, but folks seem familiar with him

not to compare the Klits to Tyson, just the competition

He never said Vitali was easy fight he said that even though he wasn't at his best and at the end of his career, he beat Vitali. Of course he knows it was a hard fight for the reason, he was done by then.

Many names fight past their primes, maybe for the passion, and losing late doesn't hurt their legacies much either.... Jack Johnson, Muhammed Ali, Evander Holyfield, etc, etc, etc.

I'm not saying it's right, but I think for boxing fans, not the boxers.

Well I don't know about you, but I don't think Holyfield's doing himself, or his legacy, any favors by sticking around way, way, way past his prime. The reason being people usually remember the last fights of a fighter more than the any other fights..simply because they the most recent.

And Jack Johnson pretty much was ostricized after the way he conducted himself after he won. It wasn't fair, but it certainly didn't help black fighters after him. Even he didn't fight all the long age wise as I believe he was 37 when he fought Willard, and he had been in Europe for years prior to that.
