    Interesting quote re: Peralta vs Ellis for WBA Title:
    1/26/70
    "People are going to have to consider Foreman a contender if he beats Gregorio Peralta. After all, Peralta was supposed to fight Ellis for the title in December 1969." -Teddy Brenner, Garden Matchmaker, on announcing Foreman-Peralta to the undercard of the Joe Frazier vs. Jimmy Ellis unification match on February 16th.

    From the time when he got the decision over Patterson, Ellis had 3 title defenses go belly up for one reason or another. He was scheduled to fight Gregorio Peralta, Henry Cooper and Robert Cleroux, but I don't know the order.
