Interesting read: Quarry asked Cooney to hurt Norton in their bout

I’ve seen him say he told Tyson, “Get him for me,” but he smiles & laughs a little. Seemed to imply it was light. Maybe that’s just that he gets as much enjoyment watching Holmes get flattened as I do though, who knows.

 

So, did Cooney get to **** Arlene Charles instead?

 

On a similar note, I heard that Bob Satterfield flirted with Archie Moore's wife and Moore remembered that when they got in the ring and punished him for it.

I could be wrong here but I don't know if Jerry and "charlie" were even still together by the time Cooney fought Norton. I think when he retired she was out of the spotlight. And she loved the spotlight.

 

An awful lot of fighters weren’t exactly upstanding, righteous human beings. Is what it is. I can imagine Quarry being vindictive. I can imagine Norton of that era being full of himself and acting like a trolling stud.
