Interesting stat they showed on the Sky broadcast of Bradley-Alexander

    With the seemingly endless number of world championship titles out there, US boxers hold very few of them. I just did a quick run through the WBC, WBA, WBO and IBF sites and the only American titleholders I found were:

    Timothy Bradley (WBO site still says Devon Alexander)
    Andre Berto
    Cornelius Bundrage (IBF site still lists Cory Spinks)
    Andre Ward
    Steve Cunningham
    Tavoris Cloud

    Since these sites clearly aren't updated very frequently I may have missed a couple. But how do we feel about this, America? :blood

    Dirrell never had a belt.

    Cunningham at CW although he was losing to Troy Ross (Canada) before the eye poke and imo has been ducking a rematch.

    You do realize that MMA and not boxing is the #1 fighting sport in America, and even MMA is a NICHE sport.

    I live in California which use to be the hotbed of my countries Amateur program on the west coast. And things look dire for American boxing folks.

    We have so few gyms, are amateur program is in the toilet (look at what we have been doing at the amateur level for the past 15 yrs).

    We can't give you what we don't got!

    We will never be the mecca of boxing talent again unless the sport takes a complete turnaround in popularity.

    Our youngsters don't care about the sport. And boxing has been a sport fueled by the underclass and if it were not for Hispanics we be worst off.

    But they will soon leave the sport behind too.....at least the American born ones will.

    We are not the best any more.

    But here is the funny part you are probably not going to like this MOST AMERICANS DONT GIVE A **** ONE WAY OR THE OTHER!!!!!!!!!!!! They left this sport a long time ago. So they don't even hear your gloating......just hardcore ****ers like me still hanging on.
