Defense is not defined only by not getting hit fool. If your chasing someone around the ring and they are not throwing or landing punches as a result that has NOTHING to do with defense LOL

Less punches thrown = less punches landed so yes that is what this about.

He has yet to showcase his "defensive" skills yet in a USA televised fight so we don't know if they are good yet. He's been too busy bludgeoning opponents into submissions so far.

Until he faces the likes of Mayweather or Ward, we don't know that.

No, this is about connect %, the guys Golovkin fought in his last 4 fights have only landed 21% of the punches they threw. That is very low, as in 2 out of ten punches actually hit Golovkin, meaning 8 out of 10 punches miss. (amount thrown is irrelevant to these stats).

If he is there to be hit, why aren't people landing at say 30% or 40%? like they do against other fighters not named Golovkin?

For instance Rosado landed on J'leon Love with 30% of his shots, against Golovkin, he only landed 20% of his shots. How can you say GGG has poor defense again?

They are all three just below the top fighters in their divisions. None are the best of their divisions.

Sorry guys, but this thread is about Golovkin's impressive stats, not about how Froch, Kessler, and Macklin failed when they met the #1 contender in their divisions.

Yes, Froch and Kessler are better than Mack, but p4p, they aren't THAT much better, not like Ward or Mayweather better...

Some good stats though. But stats always need to be taken within contexts. Which is, G hasn't had the best opposition.

However, as pure numbers go, those are pretty good. And interesting.

Fighting against his level of opposition will do that.

It certainly doesn't hurt, but think of all the fighters out there who are facing similar or worse competition, and they can't even come close to those numbers.

GG has been brought along slowly for a reason, and it sure as hell isn't because nobody wants to fight him.

    He's matched more like a 21 year pospect instead of a rusy-as.s 31 year old 7 year pro.......For a REASON.

Golovkin is at the age many fighters are considering retirement.

Broner just made 24 and is about to fight Maidana with only 2 fights at 135 and ZERO at 140.

Let's see GG do some crazy BOLD shi,.t like that:deal:deal

Let's see him move up to 168 and beat a champion with NO tuneups then onto 175 and become a Champion.

    It ain't in him.
